LEWISTON AUBURN COLLEGE STUDENT PROFILE REPORT FALL 2019

This report focuses on any USM student who enrolled in a course at USM’s Lewiston Auburn College Fall 2015

through Fall 2019. Any course with an Academic Org [[Like "*lewis*" Or Like "*leader*" Or Like "*natural*" Or

Like "*behavior*" Or Like "*occupat*"]] or a USMDept of Lewiston Auburn is pulled for this summary report.

New this year is a companion report/addendum that looks strictly at the course “location” code of V01785. ANY

NUMBERS in THAT section are additional numbers NOT COUNTED in the Student Profile Report. This

eliminates any chance of the duplication of counts.

As always, the students are broken down in 3 different categories:

Non degree;

Non-LAC matrics (matriculated in a degree program that is not LAC); and

LAC matrics.

In this report, you will find summaries by:

Headcount by category and major/plan (Pages 1-4);

Enrollments by the students’ category and major/plan (Pages 5-8);

Enrollments and course credit hours generated by category (Pages 9-10).

Enrollments and course credit hours generated by category and the course subjects (Pages 11-19); and

The final summaries are the Factbook sections for LAC matriculated students (Pages 20-21).

Continued this year, is the breakdown for LAC matrics and the subjects of the courses they are taking. Please

note the * regarding enrollments (butts in seats) in courses and how they are counted in the course subject

summaries section.

A FIRST LOOK AT LEWISTON AUBURN STUDENT PROFILE FALL 2019:

When looking at Headcounts:

46% of all students taking a course at LAC were non-LAC matrics.

50% of the students taking a course at LAC were LAC matrics. Only 4% of the students were non-degree.

At the non-LAC matric undergraduate level, 25.3% were Environmental Health & Life Science students,

16.7% were Business students, 8.1% were Undeclared students, 6.8% were Humanities students and 6.8%

were Social Work students.

Only 5% of all LAC matrics enrolled Fall 2019 did NOT take an LAC course. In the Fall of 2015, only 3.4%

of the LAC martics did NOT take an LAC course.

When looking at Enrollments:

At the non-LAC undergraduate level, 31.3% were Environmental Health & Life Science students, 14.1% were

Business students, 14.1% were Social Sciences students and 8.6% were Undeclared students.

66.4% of all students enrolled in a course at LAC were matriculated in an LAC program.

31.2% of all students enrolled in a course at LAC were non-LAC matrics. Only 2.5% were non-degree.

For LAC undergraduate matrics: 54% of the course enrollments were in the SBS subject area, 33.2% were in

the LOS subject area and 7.7% were in the LAC subject area.

For LAC graduate matrics: 80.7% of the course enrollments were in the OTH subject area and 19.2% were in

the LOS subject area.

For non-degree undergraduate students: 30.3% of the course enrollments were in the LOS subject area and

24.2% were in the BIO subject area, and 18.2% were in the SBS subject area.

For non-LAC undergraduate matrics: 43.3% of the course enrollments were in the LOS subject area, 24.5%

were in the SBS subject area, 8.1% were in the OTH subject area and 6.6% were in the SCI subject area.

For non-degree graduate students: 100% of the course enrollments were in the LOS subject area.

For non-LAC matric graduate students: 85.7% of the course enrollments were in the LOS subject area.

When looking at Course Credit Hours:

66.3% of all course credit hours at LAC were generated by LAC matrics.

31.2% of all course credit hours at LAC were generated by non-LAC matrics. Only 2.5% were non-degree.

For LAC undergraduate matrics: 57.4% of the course credit hours were in the SBS subject area, 32% were in

the LOS subject area and 5.3% were in the LAC subject area.

For LAC graduate matrics: 78.8% of the course credit hours were in the OTH subject area and 21.1% were in

the LOS subject area.

For non-LAC undergraduate matrics: 42.6% of the course credit hours were in the LOS subject area, 26.3%

were in the SBS subject area, 7.7% were in the OTH subject area and 6.6% were in the SCI subject area.

For non-degree undergraduate students: 30.8% of the total course credit hours were in the LOS subject area,

19.8% of the total course credit hours were in the BIO subject area, and 19.8% were in the SBS subject area.

For non-degree graduate students: 100% of the total course credit hours were in the LOS subject area.

LEWISTON AUBURN OVERALL FALL 2019:

Not including Maine School of Law, Lewiston Auburn College matrics represents 7.1% of USM’s Total

Degree-Seeking ¹Headcount and 6% of USM’s Total Degree-Seeking Student Credit Hours and 6.6% Total

Degree-Seeking Student Credit Hours generated by LAC courses for the Fall 2019.

For Baccalaureate degree-seeking non-LAC matric students, 25.3% are Environmental Health & Life Science

students, 16.7% represent Business, 6.8% represent Undeclared and 6.8% are Social Work students.

For Baccalaureate degree-seeking LAC students, Social & Behavioral Science majors represent 67.7% of the

students and Leadership Studies majors represent 29.9% of the students.

For Master degree-seeking LAC students, Occupational Therapy majors represent 65.6% of the students and

Leadership Studies majors represent 34.4% of the students.

For Baccalaureate degree-seeking students pursuing an LAC Minor, 41.3% were Leadership and

Organizational Study students, 23.8% were Early Childhood Studies students, and 17.5% were Public Health

students.
