  Improved  deployment  7melines

-‐  Faster  provisioning  -‐  Faster  implementa7on

-‐  Faster  7me  to  value

  Expandable  plaWorm  characteris7cs

Flexibility  to  do  physical  reloca7ons   Massive  resources  available  for  SAP  –    ability  to  provision  quickly

Ini7ally  did  an  evalua7on  that    included  POC

Deployed  UCS  systems  internally    for  approximately    6  months

Have  been  using  UCS  systems    now  for  approximately  18  months

Currently  have  around  270  UCS  blades  varying  from  4cpu  12GB  to  40cpu  256GB  RAM  deployed  between  3  datacenters

UCS-‐Based  Data  Center

Service  Profile  Templates  –  Ensure  all  node’s  in  a  vSphere  Cluster  are  100%  consistent  and  based  off  a  central  template.

Palo  (  M81KR  )  –  Ability  to  dynamically  create  network  interfaces  /  HBA’s  as  required  based  on  design

vNIC  templates  and  upda7ng  vNIC  templates    -‐    An  upda7ng  template  allows  a  change  to  be  made  in  one  place  and  automa7cally  pushed  to  service  profiles  linked  to  said  template    (  e.g.  adding  a  vlan  in  a  vmware  cluster)

High  performance  /  low  latency  –    As  virtualiza7on  density  increases,  providing  10  gig  connec7vity  to    an  ESXi  host.

Provide  complete  redundancy  of  VMware  infrastructure

U7lize  the  cugng  edge  Intel  CPU’s  with  extended  memory  that  can  s7ll  run  at  1333Mhz

What  made  Secure-‐24  decide  on  UCS

UCS-‐Based  Data  Center  ROI    Hard  Cost

Number  of  10  gig  ports    Number  of  FC  ports

Human  Resources    Time  to  deploy    Central  Management

Availability    Focus  on  redundancy    Less  chance  of  human  failure
