LEVEN WHARF IN LONDON’S EAST END IS PART OF THE CITY’S MOST FORWARD-LOOKING, LONG-TERM REGENERATION

During the 1980s, the re-imagining of the Docklands and the creation of London

City Airport kickstarted the process; since then East London has received billions of

pounds to create new homes, transport infrastructure and jobs – and attract further

investment. The introduction of Crossrail at Custom House will give even greater

fl exibility and ease of travel to both Central London and beyond.

For the 2012 Olympics, £9 billion was invested in constructing world-class sporting

venues and accommodation. Now, the creation of East London Tech City is opening

up the East End to blue-chip digital companies and agencies; the London Riverside

and larger Thames Gateway zone is shifting the focus of the city to the east, bringing

new energy to what was once a depressed area. Continued investment in this area is

creating one of the most exciting, up and coming quarters in the city; a new hub for

both living and business.

RE-IMAGINING LEVEN WHARFBusiness investment in the area is also making news with a £1 Billion regeneration planned for the Royal Albert Dock to create a hub for Asian businesses and a unique trading link between Europe and Asia

A £250 million regeneration programme is planned at Aberfeldy Village in Poplar and will

create 1,174 new homes, new open spaces and landscaped areas, as well as healthcare facilities,

retail outlets and a community centre. It will also create new job opportunities both during

construction and following completion.

London City Island, on the Leamouth Peninsular, will see the creation of new apartments and a

new community - homes, work, culture and leisure - all in one place.

Hoola, at Royal Victoria Dock, will provide 360 new homes as well as shared facilities, including

a gym, residents lounge and business lounge.

ABP Royal Albert Dock will become London’s third business district providing a unique trading link between Asia and Europe.
