Theinspectedreachconsistsofachannellinedwithgabionsandriprapinmanylocations.Therearenolevees,slidegates,closurestructures,orpumpstationsontheinspectedreach.ThereareleveesalongDryCreek belowAlvaradoNilesRoad(i.e.downstreamoftheinspectedreach).Sincethepreviousinspection,homelessencampmentshaveincreasedonchannelbanks,contributingtomuchmorechanneldebristhanobserved inpreviousinspections.Majorinspectionissuesinclude1)culvert pipe inspections over 5 years are past due, 2)vehiclerutsonbothbanksbetweentherailroadandBARTcrossing;3)crackingbelowRailroadAvenueBridge;and4)missinggabionsorriprapalong channelbottom.InitialinspectionconductedonSeptember21,2020.Follow-upphotosofRailroadAvetakenonOctober12,2020.

A. Definitions:

C. LeveeCategories:EachsegmentwillhaveitsownLeveeInspectionReport.
LeveeSegment LeveeSystem LeveeProjectAleveesegmentisdefinedasadiscreteportionofaleveesystemthatisoperatedandmaintainedbyasingleentity.SegmentscanbemadeupofoneormoreFeatures.
Aleveesystemiscomprisedofoneormoreleveesegmentsthatcollectivelyprovidefloodriskreductiontoadefinedarea(commonlyreferredtoasleveedarea).HighwayandrailroadembankmentsorotherNon-ProjectSegmentsthatareintegraltotheperformanceofexcludingfloodwaterfromtheleveedareawillbeconsideredaspartofaleveesystem.
