Lesson Procedure 1. Use a large screen projection device to show the class the

Haiku home page. 2. Facilitate a discussion about some of the haiku poems.3. Practice writing a haiku4. Discuss the format for a haiku poem using the handout for

haiku.5. Have the students write a haiku poem, using the format shown

at http://www.lsi.usp.br/usp/rod/poet/haicreate.html 6. Revise, edit, and rewrite the poems using a word processing

program.7. Illustrate the haiku using Kid Pix Deluxe.
