We are very thankful for the commitment of each team member. We are grateful to the leaders who have guided the planning and prepa-rations. We also very much appreciate our whole church family for your prayers, support and generosity that are essential to any mission venture.

What Makes a Dad

God took the strength of a

mountain,

The majesty of a tree,

The warmth of a summer sun,

The calm of a quiet sea,

The generous soul of nature,

The comforting arm of night,

The wisdom of the ages,

The power of the eagle’s flight,

The joy of a morning in spring,

The faith of a mustard seed,

The patience of eternity,

The depth of a family need,

Then God combined these

qualities,

When there was nothing more

to add,

He knew his masterpiece was

complete,

And so, He called it…Dad!

Riding a bike, using a new computer program, ironing a shirt. Training is important whenever anyone learns a new skill. Training is important in Ste-phen Ministry too. Before Stephen Leaders and Stephen Ministers begin their work, they go through a lot of training. When they start their official ministry, they’re ready. We are in the planning stages for a

new training class for Stephen Ministers

in the Fall. To find out more about what

this ministry has to offer, contact one of

Noah's Ark

The image of an ark, or boat, often shown with pairs of animals, recalls the story of Noah and the "Great Flood" in Genesis 6-8. The floodwaters represent God's judg-ment on sin, while the ark reminds us of God's gra-cious power to save and redeem. Christians see in this account a foreshadowing of Jesus baptism into the life he brings: "And baptism, which [God's res-cue of Noah and his family] prefigured, now saves you ..." Dear AUMC Friends, We would like to thank you for all the thoughts, prayers & cards during Bob’s recent illness. Prayer is power-ful and changes things. Bob was able to return to the pulpit on Easter Sun-day. May each of you continue to feel the love & comfort of God’s Holy Spirit through Christ’s grace.

Blessings,

Rev. Bob & Debbie Dowling

Dear Church Family, I cannot tell you how grateful I am for all of the cards, messages and prayers during my daddy’s illness & for the kind words since he has gone to be with the Lord. I truly do not know how people go through times like these without faith and a loving church by their side.

Blessings,

Amy Walker

THANK YOU CHURCH FAMILY!

You are the best family I could ever imagine. Through the long 3 months of recuperation from knee replace-ment you have cared for me with prayers, visits, food, phone calls and wonderful cards of encouragement and love. Bless each of you for caring and thinking of me, especially for the continuous prayers that helped my pain and state of mind, The AUMC Family IS Christian Love in Action!

Love,

Marilyn Holtham
