About NESIMS Navkonkan Education Society, a reputed and distinguished educational society in Konkan region
has been functioning in the field of education since 1964. It is passionately catering to the basic
and advanced educational needs of nearly 5500 students through its Dr. Datar, Science, Dr.
Behere Arts, Shree Pilukaka Joshi Commerce College. With a view to meet the challenges of
digital business era, the new initiative has been launched from the year 2015 named as Institute
of Management Studies, Chiplun. Which is exclusively one in Maharashtra offering master’s
degree in Digital Business management.
The Digital Business Management degree program provides essential material components of ta
traditional business administration degree plus a broad range of cutting-edge technology and
advanced digital business management and marketing tools. It includes digital practices
prevailing in digital enterprises such as business systems and procedures, cloud computing, social
media, internet of things, enterprise management systems, digital entrepreneurship, database and
big data analysis, cyber law, digital marketing, fintech alongwith general management subjects
like accounting, micro economics, business law and specialization subjects in Human Resource,
Marketing, Finance, Operation and Information systems (Elective group). The objective is to
fulfill the imminent need of industry of digital leaders.

Welcome to NES’ Institute of Management Studies. (NESIMS) is the only one institute-
from Maharashtra to offer studies in Master of Management Studies (MMS/MBA) in
Digital Business Management. Our institute is affiliated to Mumbai University &
approved by Directorate of Technical Education and AICTE, New Delhi.
It is our common knowledge that the Govt. of India has made grand plans for “Make in
India (startups), skill development and Digital India. Govt. has created best in class
infrastructure and facilities for industry 4.0. Big industries have already transformed in
digital enterprise and new one is in the process of setting up digital enterprise. It has also
resulted in the demand for employing young digital leaders/managers. Moreover, our
young generation is also demanding quality and higher education in this area. With this in
view we have established NESIMS, the only and unique Institute of its kind in the
Maharashtra providing post-graduation studies. Due to railway and road accessibility to
location and distance of 250 km from Pune and Mumbai, we have great advantage that
highly experienced and well reputed faculties and industry personnel from Mumbai and
Pune are visiting us and their conduct of sessions provides impetus towards imparting
quality education to our students. We can say with confidence that we have the best of

At NESIMS Chiplun, we continuously strive to improve analytical thinking ability of our
students through exciting teaching learning methods, policies and practices with various
support programmes, activities and learning resources.

Learning Resource
Library The institute has rich library stacked with various types of books as per
the norms laid down by AICTE. Library contains 2500 management e-books
along with two databases J-Gate and EBSCO.
A number of reference books, national and international journals / magazines are available. Various types of newspapers are also available in the library. In addition, D-Space contains study material created by faculty in all forms,
such as PPTs, Lecture notes, videos, articles etc.
Ten multimedia PCs are available in the library for e-learning, and students can search books on PCs by using KOHA software, as per their needs.
Library has conducive learning environment, is spacious and provides
befitting learning environment for the student's enhancement.
Industrial Visits
NESIMS believes in providing practical training to our students.
So with this in view we have organized a number of visits to
various industrial units located inside outside Maharashtra.
To our big advantages we have three MIDCs in the region with all
types of industrial units. A number of guest speakers from industry
are invited to the campus and share their experiences. Moreover
our students also visit the industry which help them understand
various facets of industry and workplace nuances. Students freely interact with industry managers and our experience
suggests that students are able to appreciate various issues from
multiple perspectives. We can say that Industry- Academic
interface is mutually benefitting and particularly of great
advantages to our students. 09

along with all softwares required for digital marketing

Enabling Environment
NESIMS has created an environment of learning by adopting
various measures and modern techniques. Excellent, well qualified
and experienced faculties, spacious and well furnished classrooms
with multimedia embedded systems facilitate good learning
environment. Industry -Academia interface provides impetus to
learning and a win-win situation for us as well industry. Natural
surroundings boost the learning process as we find no distractions

Internal Evaluation
Students are evaluated continuously in each semester. We believe that the
students must be groomed throughout these two years through class lectures,
presentations, assignments and projects. Continuous evaluation also includes
class tests besides the final tests at the end of the semester.

MAGNESIMS 21 days Induction Program
The Institute conducts two days
MAGNESIMS event in which students
from nearby colleges participate with full
vigor and enthusiasm. They participate
in various competitions such as
scrambled words, business plan, PPT
presentation, Ad-Mad show, role play
and main attraction is “Beauty with
Brain”.
In order to widen knowledge base,
enhance general awareness and
improve their personalities, students
are made to function in teams where
they also carry out group discussions
and mock interviews under the
guidance of the experts. This enhances
their skills, attitude and self esteem. In
the end they are better prepared to face
various challenges and shoulder
responsibilities.
Code of Conduct & Exam Rules Institute firmly believes in fair play and justice in all its dealings. Through various lectures, discussions and case
studies, special training is imparted in business ethics and good conduct to the students. This training is also
emphasized in day to day activities and conduct. For the conduct of examinations, the norms laid down by university and NESIMS are followed in letter and spirit. For
improving their dressing etiquettes and the sake of uniformity dress code is adhered to

Providing a good placement opportunity after two years of hard work is of
great significance to us as well as the students. It is imperative that we
groom our students in such a manner that at end of two years they are well
shaped managers and leaders. We organize personality development
workshop for 2 months in their first year, experts like Prof. Shilpa Sapre
and Shweta Chitale provides them training in areas where they need to
improve. With a view to improve employability of the student we provide
120 hours ‘Certificate Programe in Banking, Finance and Insurance’ in
collaboration with Bajaj Finserv.
As an day today small group activity conduct of GD and PI skills,
enhances their self esteem which is vital for the success.

Admission Procedures
Admission
Admission to two years full time MMS Degree Program will take place through
the Centralized Admission Procedure (CAP) laid down by the DTE Mumbai,
Maharashtra State.
Basic Qualification
Graduation with minimum 50% marks. Graduate degree certificate must be from
Association of Indian Universities (AIU) or University Grants Commission
(UGC) covered Universities.
Eligibility Criteria
All Candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria i.e. cleared Common Entrance
Test (CET).. For more details see - dte.org.in/mba
ATMA CET
Students who miss the MH-CET conducted by DTE or any other entrance exam as
listed in the MH-CET booklet for AY 2019—20 and issued by DTE, can appear
for the CET by ATMA, as notified by Admission Regulation Authority (ARA).
FEE
Candidates who have secured admission for the MMS are required to pay the fees
as approved by the Shikshan Shulka Samiti(SSS), Bandra (East), Mumbai. This fee
is subject to revision by the SSS and the students have to deposit the revised fee

Anti Ragging Act 1999 :
The Maharashtra Prohibition of Ragging Act 1999. Act of Maharashtra
legislature received the assent of The Governor on 15th May, 1999 & was
published in Maharashtra Govt. Gazette.
Prohibition of ragging (sec3)
Ragging within or outside the educational institute is prohibited.
Penalty: (sec 4)
Whoever directly or indirectly commits ragging, participates in , abets or
propagates ragging within or outside any educational institute shall on
conviction, be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to
two years &shall be liable to fine which may extend to 10000/- rupees.
Dismissal (sec 5)
Any student convicted of offence under sec 4 penalty for ragging, shall be
dismissed from the educational institute & such student shall not be admitted in
any other educational institution for a period of 5 years from the date of the
order of such dismissal.
Suspension (sec6)
1) whenever any student or as the case may be, the parent or guardian ,
or a teacher of an educational institution complaints, in writing, of
ragging to the head of the educational institution, the head of that
educational institution shall, without prejudice of the forgoing
provisions, within seven days of the receipt of the complaint & if, prima
facie , it is found true suspend the student who is accused of the offence,
& shall , immediately forward the complaint to the police station having
jurisdiction over the area in which the educational institution is situated
, for further action.
2) Where, on inquiry by the head of the educational institution, it is
proved that there is no substance, prima facie, in the complaint received
under the sub section (1).
3) The decision of the head of the educational institution that the student
has indulged in ragging under sub section (1) shall be final.
