What is a simple sentence?

How do we form a simple sentence?

A simple sentence has one independent clause. An

independent clause has a subject and a verb and

expresses one complete thought.

A simple sentence can be formed in four ways:

Simple Subject and Simple

•Compound subject and simple predicate•Air, water and sunlight are

needed to make plants grow

The rain fell and flooded the streets.
