Vocabulary: - active- adjectives describing people - passive: tall, slim, fair/dark hair, short

Activity 1: - organizing the class- checking homework- to review the vocabulary of the starter unit

Aim: - to create a proper atmosphere for teaching the new lesson

Procedure: Interaction: Timing: -sing the song ‘Back together’ T- Ss 3 min

Activity 2: - warm-up activity

Aim: - to familiarize the Ss to the new topic

Procedure: Interaction: Timing:- T reads the the title of the unit and elicits T- Ss 7 minwhat the unit is going to be about- T explains that they are going to meet Ss- TLarry and Lulu’s relatives- T shows flashcards- T introduces the new vocabulary- Ss repeat chorally and individually

Activity 3: - reading and matching - listening and checking

Aim: - to develop the skill of reading

Procedure: Interaction: Timing:- T points to ex1, page 10 T- Ss 10 min- Ss complete the task- T plays the CD- Ss listen and check, then repeat chorally Ss- Tand individually- T reads out the example- Ss work in pairs ex 2- some pairs report back to class- Ss close books- T hands them sheets of paper Ss- Ss- Ss draw a person (tall/short, fat/slim, darkhair/ fair hair) and show it to their partners and conduct a short exchange (‘What does he look like?’ ‘ He’s got……’)

Activity 4: - reading and listening Aim: - to develop the Ss’ listening and reading skills

Procedure: Interaction: Timing:- T goes through the pictures of the dialogue T- Ss 5 min- T asks questions- T plays the CD; Ss listen and complete thetask

Activity 5: - practice activity

Aim: - to practice the new vocabulary

Procedure: Interaction: Timing:-Ss take turns and read the dialogue Ss- Ss 5 min- T plays the CD; Ss repeat- extension: T holds up the book to the class- Ss are invited to complete the T’s sentences T- Ss- T reads out the sentences spoken by a character in the dialogue- Ss tell who it was

Activity 6: - revise the verb ‘have got’ and possessive adjectives

Aim: -to give practice in the use of possessive adjectives and the verb ‘have got’

Procedure: Interaction: Timing:- T says and writes I have got (dark hair) T- Ss 10 min- T elicits and writes the rest of the persons- Ss repeat and copy into their notebooks Ss- Ss- T hands them worksheets- Ss solve the exercises- T revises the possessive adjectives- T asks Ss to make sentences as in theexample (ex 3, page 11)- T demonstrates the activity- Ss complete the task- T checks the answers

Activity 7: - practice and production

Aim: - to give further practice

Procedure: Interaction: Timing:- before going into class T prepares sets T- Ss 4 minof sentences on slips of paper- T explains the game- T hands out the slips of paper to the Ss in Ss- Ssrandom order- Ss go around and find the one who has got the same sentence; then they show and read their sentences

Activity 8: - ending the lesson

Aim: - to consolidate the vocabulary of the lesson

Procedure: Interaction: Timing:- before going into class T selects picturesof famous people T- Ss 5 min- T pins up the pictures and writes their names- Ss choose the one they like Ss- Ss- Ss look at the picture and write a short description - T pins up the Ss’ descriptions next to thepictures- Ss read their description- T goes around the class, providing any necessary help

Activity 9: - homework

Aim: - to provide consolidation of language and grammar so far

Procedure: Interaction: Timing:- Ss are asked to work at home one exercise T- Ss 1 min
