Lesson Plan in Technology and Livelihood Education 7 K to 12 Basic Education Curriculum Date: July 28, 2014 Time Frame: 1 hour I. OBJECTIVES At the end of the lesson, students are expected to: 1. Identify and name sewing tools; and 2. Cite the use/s and function/s of each sewing tool. II. LEARNING TASK A. Topic: USE OF SEWING TOOLS B. References: Learning Module Grade 7 TLE C. Materials: realia, cut-outs, laptop and LCD projector D. Teaching Strategy: Inquiry Approach E. Application: Sewing tools are used to accomplish sewing tasks. III. LEARNING SEQUENCE A. Motivation The teacher will post a table written on a cartolina. The table is divided into five columns which contains the terms MEASURING TOOLS, CUTTING TOOLS, MARKING TOOLS, PINNING & SEWING TOOL and MATERIALS in columns 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 respectively. She will put pictures of examples of each category on the table/desk. She will then call students to classify the examples as either measuring tools, cutting tools, marking tools, pinning & sewing tool or materials. The student will post the picture on the column in which they think the picture of the example belongs to. (The table that the students completed is shown below.) B. Lesson Proper

Teacher will process the activity given. She then corrects wrong responses by placing the picture in the right column where it belongs. She will then ask the following questions:

1. Have you seen any of the pictures in real life?

2. What do you think are these? Where do we use these materials shown by the pictures?

Teacher now reveals the topic of the lesson.

Teacher process the answers of students eliminating the misconceptions of the students. She will show a slide which contains the picture of a tape measure. She will ask the class the name of the picture (which is obvious a tape measure). The students will also give the uses of a tape measure after identifying its name. Teacher repeats the process until the last picture to be shown is thread.

C. Application

After discussing the names and uses of the different sewing tools, teacher will ask the following questions?

1. Where do we use these materials? 2. What is the importance of knowing the names and uses of these materials?3. What are the things that we should avoid or not do when using these materials

for example using the scissors?

IV. EVALUATION

Matching Type

Direction: Match the names of sewing tools in column A with the pictures in column B and write at least one use of each sewing tool in Column C.
