Lesson Plan DYNED KIDS Unit 9-2 Introduction Objectives: Ss will recall language from Unit 9 Listening Part 2. Method: T-Ss Materials: PPT: images from Unit 9 Listening Part 2 Procedure: Step 1: Sit Ss around the circle and show slide. Step 2: Select two Ss and have them come to the front to role play the scenes. Activity 1 Objectives: Ss will review vocabulary from Unit 9 Vocabulary 1. Method: S-Ss –TTT Materials: PPT: images from Unit 9 Vocabulary 1 Procedure: Step 1: Show slides to Ss and give 10 seconds for Ss to memorize the words. Step 2: Make the words disappear and have Ss recall them. Step 3: Show the words again and have a few Ss use the words to talk about their own situations. For example, “I like juice very much. I usually have juice after school. My favorite is orange juice.” Activity 2 Objectives: Ss will personalize language in Unit 9 Listening Part 2. Method: S-Ss –TTT NS SCM Materials: pictures of clothes and American currency Procedure: Step 1: Have Ss split into two groups, hand out the pictures of clothes to one group, and hand out the pictures of American currency to the other. Step 2: Have one group of Ss play the roles of shop assistants, and the other play the roles of customers. The customers will cut out the right amount of money to pay for clothes that they want to purchase, while the shop assistants will cut out the items that their customers want. Set one minute for Ss to prepare. Step 3: If time allows, customers can go to different ‘shops’ to buy clothes that they like. FOA Fluency Opportunity Activities, are designed to give kids a break from regular study and let them just enjoy the language. Over time, it is hoped, during these sessions, the students will start using the course language without design – naturally. As these are fun activities, like games, it can be considered a reward and motivation. Suitable activities available from the Support Hub.
