Industry-wide award - sets out the legally enforceable minimum conditions employment (such as pay and work hours) for all employees working in a particular industry

A collective agreement is an agreement negotiated between employees in groups (rather than as individuals) and their employer about pay and working conditions. Employees may be represented by their union.

Individual Contract - Is an agreement negotiated directly by the employer and employee about pay and working conditions. Australian workplace agreements (AWAs) are individual contracts; however, legislation passed in 2008 states states that no new AWAs can be made. Individual common law employment contracts are still permitted
