CRYSTAL ALCHEMY 

Along with the spirits, the plants, the animals, and the planets 

and stars, the stones and crystals of this Earth are part of 

nature. They are made of the same atoms and sub‐atomic 

particles as all of the Universe. They have their stories to tell, 

their energies to share, and their magic to join with ours.  

There is a reason this course is called 

“Crystal Alchemy” and there is a reason 

that completing this course leads to 

examination and certifications as a 

Crystal Alchemist. 

 

Alchemy is, in its simplest definition an attempt to change one 

thing into a better thing. Yes, you may be well aware that the 

alchemist of old were unsuccessful in changing base metals 

into gold. (Little did they know they would need an oven with 

the temperatures and pressures of a good‐sized star.)1 

 

But what they did know was that the focused, sustained effort 

to make a better thing from a lesser thing was a noble and 

important part of improving the lives and spirits of all men and 

women. Their methods brought us chemistry, significant 

contributions to spiritual practices, and believe it or not, the

Crystal Alchemy is a new offshoot of traditional alchemy. 

Developed here at the Crystal Vaults by the author, a certified 

Alchemist of the ancient and honorable Alchemist Guild, 

Crystal Alchemy draws from the traditions and methods of the 

alchemist of old and combines it with the knowledge of the 

energies of crystals and stones.  

 

The ancient alchemist focused more 

on metals and on plants in their 

efforts to extract and combine the 

essences of the materials. They did 

not focus much on crystals because 

the secrets of the crystals could not 

be determined with the instruments and method they had 

available. But now that has changed. 

 

Today we know the secrets of the stones. We can see the 

crystal structures, determine the chemical earth energies and 

relate to the many hues of color they project. Today we can 

combine the wisdom of the ancient alchemist, seers, and 

magicians with the current findings of science. The result is a 

robust, easily mastered skill ‐ creating magic from crystal 

energy. The study of this skill is called Crystal Alchemy.  

 

 

 

The basics of all alchemy including Crystal Alchemy is the Tria 

Prima ‐ the three primordial principles of creation and potential 

transformation that are inherent in all things. The alchemists 

called them Sulfur, Mercury, and Salt. To modern scientists, 

they are Energy, Light, and Matter. In the Emerald Tablet we 

are instructed that all of existence is threefold in nature: 

mental, astral, and physical in one.  

 

 

The Tria Prima are the three primordial principles of creation 

and potential transformation that are inherent in all things. In 

Crystal Alchemy these are the crystal’s Mind, Spirit, and Body.”  

These three primal forces are what make up the First Matter, 

and their separation, rectification, and reunion are what 

constitutes alchemist magic.  

 

This alchemical process of dissolution and reconstitution 

"perfects" any substance or any situation, whether it be 

changing lead into gold or sadness to joy.  

 

We use the Alchemist processes to dissolve the Energy, Light, 

and Matter element of a crystal ‐ its Mind, Spirit, and Body, 

into essences and then reconstitute them into elixirs to 

attempt to perfect any situation or desire.  

 

We will use dissolution to extract the “Crystal Essence” of a 

stone ‐ its Mind, the “Crystal Color Essence” of a stone ‐ its 

Spirit, and the “Crystal Tincture” of a stone ‐ Its Body. We will 

then reconstitute them “to perfect” crystal elixirs and 

aromatherapy mixtures.  

 

Crystals have three defining characteristics, their crystal 

structure, their color rays, and their chemical “Earth energy” 

from their composition of elements.  

 

We can capture the essence of the crystal structure with 

sunlight and water by making crystal essences. We can capture 

the crystal color essence of a crystal using water, sunlight, and 

prisms. And, we can capture the Earth energy of a crystal by 

making a tincture ‐ using alcohol and sunlight. 

 

In these ways, we can use the alchemist’s key process of 

dissolution to bring out the energy of the crystal’s mind, spirit, 

and body. These “essences” will be used in our alchemist work 

to make elixirs, aromatherapy, and other products useful to 

improving our minds, bodies, and spirits.  

 

While we will be using the alchemist process of dissolution, we 

will use the Fire Element, but in a new way from the traditional 

furnaces of the ancient alchemist.  

ANCIENT ALCHEMIST AND THE ELEMENT OF FIRE 

The ancient alchemist strove to 

understand the metals, the planets, 

and the plants of this Earth. Their 

tool was primarily the heat 

component of the Fire Element. 

They reduced things to ashes and 

recombined them to create better, 

more pure things. In their quest, they 

did succeed in many efforts. 

Chemistry and the wonders of new 

drugs trace back to their 

experiments. Yes, they did not succeed in finding a way to 

change lead into gold, but they paved the way for modern 

science in many ways.2 

 

One area they did not explore well was the energy and power 

of gems, minerals, and crystals. The reason is that once you 

destroy a crystal by heat there is little to make from the ashes.

alchemist. That is “light.” Light is a vibration ‐ a wave, and its 

energy can now be used to bring the essences of crystals to our 

lives.3

modern science to explore the
