Your belief system is unique, and it is what you believed as true from a certain condition in your

life. It is the sum of all beliefs that you have adopted through family, culture, school, society,

country, etc.

It is important to acknowledge that even though we inherit, form, adopt beliefs from others, they

are unique to us and may be different from everybody else. It is hard to find 2 people believing exactly the same thing about something. Beliefs

are like a fingerprint, similar, but different.

So beliefs are all those interpretations we believe as true without any QUESTIONING. We start believing things as true from a very young age., without our consent, believing this is how it is and forming an idea of how things are. For every belief, there is a way/pattern we develop, that confirms our belief to be right.

Here’s the definition of the word belief:- A feeling of being sure that someone or something exists or that something is true.- A feeling that something is good, right or valuable.- A state of mind or habit in which trust or confidence is placed in some person or thing.

Limiting Beliefs and Open Beliefs

Beliefs range from limiting to freeing. Limiting beliefs are not necessarily negative, but they are restricting you from greater good and sometimes they can just be not bringing any good to your life. However, LIMITING BELIEFS are not serving you well because they are limiting your experiences and causing you unwanted situations, such as lack of money, unloyalty, not being seen or heard, or simply constant arguing or complaint. These limiting beliefs can be changed, and so the learned pattern to prove that belief to be right.

Remember, you will act and make decisions according to your belief.

Limiting belief = Limiting action = Limited decisions = Limited results.

Open belief = Open action = Open decisions = Open results

LESSON 2Your Belief System

How to uncover limiting beliefs

Develop AwarenessPay attention to your Self Talk. We have more than 65,000 thoughts a day from which at least 80% are negative. Self-talk includes negativity, judging, criticizing, making unnecessary assumptions, self-defeating, pessimistic, fearful, worry, and doubt.

Check in with your feelingsBehind every feeling, there is a belief. When a limiting belief has been triggered, and unpleasant feeling is felt.

Watch your wordsI can’t, but, what if, how, I’m not able, It’s impossible, yeah but, some day, I’ll never be able to.

When affirming your good doesn’t feel true. Affirming, declaring and stating positive things are only words said from the head without any feeling means you are not ‘believing’. When you believe in something, you feel it.

“Negative self-talk perpetuates procrastination”

LESSON 2Your Belief System

How to overcome limiting beliefs

Overcoming limiting beliefs is an ongoing process. You need to learn a new habit of self-talk while disempowering the old.

Identifying a limiting belief is step 1 and then you need to label it as ‘old’ and ‘powerless’. Every time this old belief tries to come in, say to yourself, this is an old belief and has no power over me at all.

It requires that you replace each of them with a new positive and empowering one.

In order to replace a new belief, it must be believable.

Make your own affirmations and read them or say them several times a day. It is fundamental that you feel them. For more information on affirmations check Louis Hay best seller book, I can Do it.

Look for the opposite positive belief and give your consent to what you decide to believe now.

What is a positive affirmation?

They are “I statements” followed by a positive quality, action or desire. They are always in present tense and help you create new ways of thinking that are positive and in alignment with your desire.

I am open to receive all my good now

Life adores me and I am safe in this world

I attract clients easily and my business is constantly growing

I love and approve of mySelf.

I am great, and great things happen to me

“We have to retrain our thinking and speaking if we want to change our lives. It is about

consciously choosing what to think, believe and speak in order to create a new experiences.”

~Louis Hay, I can Do it
