The LESER metal seats (disc and nozzle)are lapped to optical flatness to ensurea tight shut off. LESER safety reliefvalves are supplied with a standardleak tightness according to API 527.
Type 4373Standard material for the disc is a hard-ened stainless steel. The combinationof a hard disc material and a softer seatmaterial (316L) provides for improvedwear resistance and longer product life.
Type 4374Disc and seat are provided in 316Lmaterial for highest corrosion resistance.Any other material which is availablefrom bar stock can be supplied as well(e.g. Hastelloy®, Monel®, Alloy20,…).
Metal seat Stellited sealing surfaces
Stellited sealing surfaces For high temperature applications, orapplications with abrasive fluids wearresistant sealing surfaces are recom-mended.The sealing surfaces of the disc, seator nozzle can be stellited by build-up-welding. The minimum thickness of thestellite is 0.06 inch.In addition to the corrosion resistance, the stellited surface also offers a highresistance to impact and suddenchanges in temperature.

Notes: 1 The bellows for type 459/462 is back pressure compensating for orifice size 0.206 Inch2
(133 mm2). It is over compensating for orifice size 0.099 Inch2 (63,6 mm2) and under compensatingfor orifice size 0.373 Inch2 (241 mm2). Please ask factory for details.2 Type 4594 with heavy duty body: up to 1022 °F, the temperature limits for type 462 depend onother parts e.g. soft seal materials.3 The so called built up back pressure limit defines limit for which the proper function of thepressure relief valve is ensured. The superimposed back pressure limit of a bellows refers onlyto the static stability of the bellows design and does not consider the influence of the backpressureon the opening and closing of a pressure relief valve.
Conversion kits are available for aneasy change from a conventionaldesign to a balanced bellows design.Conversion kits contain all necessaryparts which must be replaced (bellows, spacer, spindle and gaskets). Please refer to page 56 Spare Parts.

The lift indicator will indicate an open-ing of the pressure relief valve when thevessel pressure has increased so thatthe valve opens with a “pop”.LESER provides DC proximity switchestype “N” using two-wire technology. These intrinsically safe proximity swit-ches can be used in explosion hazardarea zone 0. Other types of switchescan be used as well.
The lift indicator option is available forseries 459 in combination with thepacked lever H4 either with or withoutproximity switch. The connection size is M18 x 1.
