The Falcinelli Studio is engaged primarily in editorial graphics, and more in general in the making of printed objects. The Studio has designed book series and covers for many celebrated italian publishing houses such as Einaudi, Elèuthera, Laterza, Minimum Fax, Newton Compton and others. The philosophy in which all the works are based provides a strong union between the manual and the digital. From this fertil mixture arises an artigianl workshop that brings together the latest techniques in the press field and a design enriched by visual thories and graphic history, wich also pays attention to the progresses made in the science studying the nervous system.

I started to work in the Falcinelli Studio as an intern in 2010. As my internship came to and end i had the possibility to keep working and collaborating with the studio. I currently still work there and our main activities include designing graphics, illustrations, cover books and making iconographic research and many other things.

Puncum is a platform for books, exhibitions and photography productions, which was founded in 2003 by Marco Delogu. It takes ideas and visions and transforms them into rigorous, tangible, original projects, paying attention to the balance between the merit of a project and its final form. Puncum publishes works by Italian and foreign authors, particularly contemporary and often unpublished ones. Photographers who work for the publisher include Alec Soth, Anders Petersen, Giuseppe Cavalli, Graciela Iturbide, Guy Tillim, Marco Delogu, Olivo Barbieri, Pieter Hugo, and Tod Papageorge.

My collaboration with Delogu starts in 2009. In his publishing house I take care of what concerns the visual comunication part, in a wide-spreading field that extents from book graphics to advertisment. In addition to that, I had the chance to work in several photo shoots, and furthermore I was involved for three years in a row in the organization of the International Photography Festival sets in Rome, an event directed by Marco Delogu himself, and which in the years had gathered a range of notorious photographers such as Josef Koudelka, Olivo Barbieri, Anders Petersen, Martin Parr, Graciela Iturbide, Gabriele Basilico, Guy Tillim, Tod Papageorge, Alec Soth and Paolo Ventura.

RomeYork studio, based in Rome, is a specialized video making service able to shoot any kind of situation for any kind of audiovisual formats: video clips, commercials, streaming live events, documentaries, and movies. Moreover RY is active on graphic design and visual communications, it develops and produces corporate images, branding, logo and any kind of printed material for commercial and advertising necessities. Aside the video making service, This Is How We Do It is the main project of the studio.The initial idea was to shoot with very high quality some Rap concerts and live shows, however, thanks to the success, we had the chance to shoot the most important Rap concerts in Italy and abroad in the last two years:

Here you may find a selection of works that I made out of personal interest or designed for private commissions. For instance, while I was in a partnership with Raginbull Mgmt, which organizes events and concerts in Rome, I designed different posters. Later I designed the brochure for the promotion of the Tattoo Expo Roma. Last year Paolo Repetti, the editor in chief of Einaudi Stile Libero (a special section of the Einaudi publishing house) contacted me because he wanted to make a gift for one of the greatest italian director Paolo Sorrentino. We decided to realize two canvas of 75x150 cm, representig in one side the italian actor Toni Servillo in the other Sean Penn (both main characters of two different Sorrentino's pictures). I also made various photography projects and graphics and illustrations. Lastly my bachelor's degree thesis in Industrial Designin, which I graduated with the highest mark and also with the laude publicationis, certifying that the work deserves to be published. Tipograffiti is a 120 paged book of which an essay was published in Progetto Grafico, the most important magazine of graphic design in Italy, directed by Riccardo Falcinelli.

A book about books. Minimum fax is an independent publishing house founded in 1995. This books is about ten years of book design, but is not just a display of covers. It tells the story from within the process. All the members involved in the book making, from the editor in chief to the art director, share their work and methods from various titles, explaining their way of thinking and showing not only successful graphics but also the sketches and unused or refused layouts.

This is how we do it è progetto Audio/Video basato sui concerti live Rap avvenuti in Europa tra Gennaio 2010 e Novembre 2012, ripresi con l’obiettivo di annullare il confronto tra “Clip Video e Live” e buttare giù il muro della finzione. Due anni di lavoro che hanno permesso alla RY di raccogliere una quantità di materiale fuori dal comune. Più di 100 concerti che hanno visto come protagonisti le più importanti star della scena Rap mondiale, ripresi da 8 Videocamere DSLR FULL HD con registrazione in alta definizione dell’audio in uscita diretta dal mixer e in presa diretta dal pubblico; oltre ad interviste esilaranti, backstage imperdibili, skit, foto e molto altro ancora.i

progetto grafico Publication of an extract of my degree thesis Tipograffiti

Progetto grafico is an international graphic design magazine published by Aiap, Italian association for visual communication design. A reference for the culture of visual communication design in Italy since its beginning, Progetto grafico has now undergone a renovation, including a new editorial style, new graphics and an English translation of the whole text. The idea is that Progetto grafico should be a critical forum on graphic design. For that reason a monographic approach was chosen, which will make it possible to analyze a number of topics in depth, including contributions from inside and outside the industry. On the whole, Progetto grafico does not aim at presenting news stories, but is an attempt to look at ongoing developments from the right distance.
