Leonardo Da Vinci

Born in 1452 in Italy. He was very curious and asked lots

of questions. He was very smart – way ahead of

his time and some people thought he was strange.

He was popular and royalty would hire him to paint for them.

Much of his artwork has been ruined including all of his sculptures (there were many of them).

He often traveled from France to Italy to work for royalty. Whenever he traveled, he would only carry his notebooks and his painting of the Mona Lisa.

Why do you think he always carried this painting with him?

He was also a scientist and an inventor!

Why do you think he traveled his whole life?
