This weekend at each of our Masses, we will pray for the men and women who are preparing to join us in the Catholic Faith at the Easter Vigil on Holy Saturday night. We will send them to the Archbishop with our love, who will officially call them to the Sacraments of Initiation through the ‘”Rite of Election.” Please pray for them on this journey. And may we let them be reminders to us of our call to take seriously the Faith we have been given.

Women’s Club St. Patrick’s Party!Attention all women of Irish descent, partially Irish, pseudo Irish or just "wanna be Irish" celebrating because it's really fun to celebrate St Patrick with the ladies of the Women's Club at Most Sacred Heart.

ARCHDIOCESAN LENTEN REGULATIONS

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him.” (John 3:16-17)

The Church has always helped us fulfill these words of Jesus by prescribing very definite penance for all Catholics, so that we too might have Eternal life. Accordingly, the Pope and the American Bishops have outlined obligatory fast and abstinence as follows: Ash Wednesday (February 26, 2020), all Fridays of Lent and Good Friday (April 10, 2020) are days of abstinence (refraining from meat) for all Catholics from age 14 onwards. On these two days, fast, as well as abstinence, is also obligatory for those from the ages of 18-59.

Abstinence means refraining from meat.

Fast means one full meal a day, with two smaller meals and nothing between meals (liquids are permitted).

No Catholic will lightly excuse himself or herself from this obligation. We should strive to make all days of Lent a time of prayer and penance. Following are several resources that can aid in finding different forms of prayer and penance.

ARCHDIOCESAN LENTEN RESOURCES There are many excellent resources for the Season of Lent you might wish to use. Following is a list of some resources available for Lent this year:

Invitation to help clean our church

We are in need of a few more volunteers to help keep our church tidy. Volunteers dust, straighten the books in the pew pockets and sweep up the “cheerios” from the floor of one section of the church every 5th week. It takes about an hour. You would work independently coordinating with your team. Men and women who currently volunteer report that they find this a good time to pray and be present with the Lord while they tidy His house. If you can accept this invitation, call Margaret Baker (636-938-6911) or Pat Croat (314-775-3785).

MSH CYC Golf registration is now open through SI Play, which can be accessed via the parish website http://shsports.org/. Students in grades 1-4 will receive 6 professional golf clinics and 3 rounds of course play on a “mini-course” starting April 25th. Students in grades 5-8 will receive 4 weeks of instruction and 6 rounds of match play. Clinics begin March 21st. Interested parents can find more information on the Parish’s website, or contact Mike Poepsel at 314.960.0731.

Golf Registration now open

Daylight Savings time begins March 8 at 2 am. Remember to set your clocks ahead one hour next Saturday night!
