OFFICE OF STATE REVENUE Organization• The New South Wales (NSW) Office of State Revenue is an administrative division of the Government of New

South Wales, Australia, that has responsibility for collecting taxes. The Office of State Revenue (OSR) is NSW's principal revenue agency that administers state taxation and revenue for NSW. OSR also manages fines, recovers debts and administers grants.

Business Needs OSR has a large legacy storage environment which includes EMC and NetApp, in which performance and functionality was not able to meet business requirements. • Meccanotecnica Umbra is a world leader in the production of mechanical seals, specializing in the automotive and household appliance industries and in various industrial sectors including chemical, pharmaceutical, food, pulp and paper, and mining. Today, about fifty years from its founding, the Meccanotecnica Umbra Group is a major world producer of seals for rotating shafts and, in particular, covers 35% of the worldwide market in the automotive sector and 50% for dishwashers.

Business Needs To expand their 7x24 production environment, Meccanotecnica was looking for a highly available storage solution that would deliver high performance for their SQL applications in a Hyper-V environment. The customer was keen in finding a solution that would exploit windows-based applications and work well within a Hyper-V infrastructure. HP was the main competitor.

ENAV Organization• ENAV is the Italian air navigation service provider, ensuring safety and reliability 24/7 for the 1.8 million

flights handled yearly from the control towers of 44 airports and 4 Area control centers. With a workforce of 4,200, Enav provides air navigation services to its numerous customers, the airlines that fly over Italian airspace.

Business Needs ENAV is the first of a major air traffic controller consolidation project throughout Europe. Given the critical nature of the environment, ENAV had (3) key requirements: a) Systems had to be extremely resilient, with no single point of failure, built-in redundancy and automatic failover/failback. b) solution had to provide high performance, capable of keeping up with the expected high I/O count. c) Storage capacity must be easy to expand based on storage abstraction (the ability to choose from any vendor, and any type of storage: SSDs, Flash, dense drives, etc). Business Needs PCA needed to replace an XIO storage array at its International Falls mill facility. While initially founded to serve the needs of patients in Polk County, Florida, Watson Clinic is now of the largest and most respected clinics in the Southeast (US), with 16 state-of-the-art regional sites, with over 1,500 employees serving close to 1M outpatient visits per year.

Business Needs While the initial need was just to do a hardware refresh of a 10TB MS SQL cluster, it became clear the customer was struggling with performance for their electronic medical records application.
