FRIDAY 16 JUNE 2017 | TERM 2 | WEEK 8

Principal’s Message I hope you all were able to find somewhere dry and warm to recharge over our very wet long weekend. It was a great chance to catch up on some reading and do some of those inside jobs we often delay. Several of our ES1 and S1 students were lucky enough to attend the stage performance of the Hungry Caterpillar in Lismore Wednesday. From all reports it was a great show and the students, teachers and accompanying parents all enjoyed it. What was particularly pleasing was that two different organisers of the performance made a point of coming to see the Lennox staff to let them know that our students had been the best behaved they’d had in attendance across all of the performances. Well done everyone and thank you for continuing to uphold our three key values even when you are out representing the school. I understand that some parents were disappointed that their children did not get to attend – so were we. Unfortunately often when shows like this are held they only allocate a certain number of seats to each school so we had to allocate the seats we were given on a first in basis. The same as what we have to do for the Writers Festival. Apologies for any disappointment caused, but it was out of our control. I mentioned some items regarding the school uniform at last week’s assembly. This may have created some confusion. I did indicate that children were not to wear black leggings to school. This is true; however girls are still able to wear green tights or green leggings under their skorts or dresses. In addition everyone is able to wear bottle green track pants if you wish. All school uniform requirements are now available at School Locker in Ballina. They are still waiting on the embroidery to be completed on the school jumpers, but these should be available very soon. If your child needs to wear a different colour jumper in the meantime they can, until the new merchandise is available. I will let parents know when this is available. I would also like to remind you that North Coast jumpers are not school uniform, nor are rugby jumpers and we request that these are not worn to school, but kept for their weekend wear. As indicated last week, school reports for the first semester will be sent home to parents in week 10. Teachers on the report will have requested if they would like to see you to discuss your child’s progress. These interviews will be held on Thursday 20 July after school in the hall. If your child’s teacher has not requested an interview on the report, you may still make a booking if you choose. Details on how to book interviews will be sent home in the newsletter in the last week of term. Have a great weekend! Kind Regards, Deb Langfield.
