Unfortunately we lost our first game 3-1. We had two other games that day, and won one and lost one. The important thing was that we kept our heads up and kept playing as one team. On the second day we had two games and lost both, but overall in our pool we came 5 th . On the third day we had to go up against Polding for 7 th place, but they beat us so we ended up coming 8 th of 13 teams. Rugby League Well done to our Rugby League team who won both games on Wednesday at the PSSA Classic Shield Knockout. They will be advancing to the next round, good luck! Netball Five girls from Lennox Head PS were selected in the PSSA years 5/6 Headland District team at Mullumbimby - Coco G, Ashlea S, Sophie R, Neeve A and Maddie A. They went to South Tweed Netball Club for the Far North Coast selection. The girls all trialled really well however the competition was very strong. Coco G was the only player selected from our district for the Far North Coast Team trail and she travelled to Grafton on Wednesday for this. Congratulations on making it to Regional! Lennox Head PS knockout competition has commenced with our first game against Southern Cross Public School last Friday. The team played very well on the day against the heavily supported Southern Cross girls/boys team and took away a convincing win 16 - 7. It was a great effort from all students involved. Thank you to Miss Rollison for her coaching efforts and the parents for their support. FRIDAY 31 MAY 2019 | TERM 2 | WEEK 5

Principal’s Message Well we are now officially half way through Term 2! The year is flying by! Well done to all of the students who have been trialling for various sporting teams over the last few weeks or have participated in individual events. I always hear wonderful reports from staff at other schools, stating that our students all represent our school brilliantly and are always displaying the school’s Three Key Values. I am always very proud when I hear this – so well done. As mentioned 2 weeks ago, the cooler weather has certainly now arrived! A reminder that our school jumpers are able to be purchased from The School Locker in Ballina. If you have a NSW PSSA jumper or North Coast apparel from your representative honours, that is great, however we do request that these are not worn to school as they are not part of the school uniform. Save these for your after school or weekend wear. Next week our dance groups will be participating in the Far North Cast dancing competition held on the Gold Coast. Best of luck to all of the dancers, I know you will have a great time. I would also like to say a massive thank you to the teaching staff that have been co-ordinating this. The extra hours you have been putting in have not gone unnoticed so thank you! Year One travelled to Tropical Fruit World this week and from all reports had a great day. Year 2 travelled to Currumbin last week and also had a brilliant day. Thanks again to teachers for organising this excursion and ensuring everyone had a fun and educational experience. I would also like to say a massive thank you to the Acret family for their kind donation to the school, it is greatly appreciated! A reminder that if you ever notice people on the school site after hours or notice something suspicious, please report to the education security unit on 1300 880 021, or of course you can call Ballina Police on 6681 8699. I am involved in a teleconference on Monday morning which will hopefully provide some information regarding what is occurring with our proposed new build and the ongoing issues of maintenance at the school now that we are identified as a ‘no dig’ site. I shall keep you informed and will pass on that information as soon as I know. Have a great weekend. Deb Langfield Principal
