Lemonade Day Dallas is a

FREE, fun and experimental

learning program powered by

Google for Entrepreneurs.

The event is designed to

empower young people to

become tomorrow’s

entrepreneurs. During the

event, the participants learn

what it takes to start, own

and operate a small business.

Launch Date

Lemonade Day was officially

launched in 2007, in

Houston Texas by Michael

Holthouse, a Houston

philanthropist and

entrepreneur. Michael and

his wife Lisa have grown the

event to include 50 cities across the US and Canada.

What Inspires EntrepreneursThe inspiration for Lemonade

Day stems from the fact that

America was built on the

backs of entrepreneurs, who

believe in the American

dream and are not afraid of

hard work. The goal is to

provide children with the

necessary skills, training and

real life experiences, to spark

their entrepreneurial spirit

and teach solid business

How Children Can Become Entrepreneurs

When a child registers to

become a participant, he or

she is given a backpack that

contains an entrepreneurship

workbook. The workbook

contains 14 critical business

lessons, including; creating a

budget, marketing, servicing

customers, giving back to the

community and setting business goals.

Training

Training is usually carried out by parents, youth organization leaders, and adult mentors and teachers. At the end of the training, students are offered the opportunity to start their first business, which is a lemonadestand.

A-Affordable’s Role

This year A-Affordable will not only participate as a sponsor in Dallas Texas, but will also participate as a sign up location and offer selected retail store locations as sites for young entrepreneurs to host their lemonade stands on May 2nd.

Positive Knowledge Gained

The knowledge attained

after training is designed

to teach kids how to

solve problems and

increase their own self-

esteem in order to

become successful and enterprising adults.

Don’t go shopping if you don’t know what you want

The youths are

encouraged to spend,

save and give the money

they have received from

their ventures, to a

charity organization of

their choice. The event is

open to individual

participants, groups and
