Review of 2013 - 2014
• Establishment of Training squads at weekends in conjunction with NAC HPC.• Approx. 50 swimmers in total in each of the squads led by Alan Turner, Anne Burdis
and Linda Tormey
• Successful Training camp was run over the New Year period and this was very well subscribed to
• Successful Graded and Distance meets now that each meet has a full day dedicated to it
• Leinster Div 2 meet re-branded as Leinster Open Graded meet. Offered additional swims which were well taken up and appreciated by the clubs
• Sent team to British Age Groups and Youths in Sheffield last July• Large team of 34 swimmers participated at the Ulster Age Group Meet in
March, this proved very successful with lots of PBs by the swimmers
Looking Ahead
• Regional Training Opportunities• Saturday 4-6pm and Sunday 8-10am Leinster Regional Squad – Coach Alan Turner• Sunday 4pm -6pm Leinster Development Squad
• QT: Div 1 Leinster times – Led by Anne Burdis
• Launch of South-East Squad: To develop coaches and offer additional training to swimmers- Led by Mary Duggan and Fran Ronan
• Launch of regional Development Squad – Education and training opportunities• 1: Junior/Age Group• 2: Youth/Senior
• Qualification will be within a % of National Squad times
• TEAM LEINSTER – Establishment of competitive team to compete domestically and internationally• 1: Development• 2: Age group/youth• 3: Youth/Senior
