*sigh* “Now that Keika’s moved out, nothing interesting happens here. So boring.”
“Oh really?” Desi’s glimpse asked.
“If I recall, a few minutes ago you were smutsleing around chanting ‘Keika’s gone! Got my house back!”
“And your point is? I’m still bored.”
Desi slammed her book.“Honestly, you are so annoying. I’m leaving.”
“Hey,” my simself called after her, “You can’t leave! You’re not really real!”
“Watch me.” Desi waltzed over to the doors and threw them open.
Her image fuzzed like a bad hologram. As she left, she fadded out into oblivion and was gone.
“Well that was dramatic...”
Welcome back to the Legrand Legacy! Sorry about taking another five months. IRL College is kind of time consuming…Last time, Anton and Brielle settled in, with Anton becoming a criminal mastermind, and Brielle aided him. They also were looking for the twins, Ed and Francois. Bo got a wake up call and Desi regretted using voodoo on Bobby. Am I forgetting something? Oh right, ANTON DIED!!! And Charnell discovered she could not have kids, and so she gave up heirship.
Above is the house I built for Charnell, and Puck.
Charnell sighed.Puck entered the room and looked at her.
He stayed silent for awhile, then he finally asked,“Can I sit with you?”
“I’m worried about you. Is there something other than the legacy bothering you?”Charnell sighed. “No… yes, I don’t know.”“I’m pretty sure you do know. All of this is hard, and I know you need the time to sort things out. It’s just…I miss your smile. I miss you. I love you, so if there’s anything I can do to help tell me.”
“I guess it’s that I always expected to be a mom. Now that I can’t, I don’t know what to do with myself anymore.”Puck stood up.
“You should have said so before,” Puck said with a grin. “Just because you can’t have kids, doesn’t mean that you can’t be a mom. We can always adopt. If that’s what you want.”Charnell leapt from her seat.
“I love you,” She said.
“So, because of all of the complications, namely Charnell being sterile, Anton’s death, and the other three of my kids missing, you’ve defaulted as the new heir.” Anette stated, then waited for a response.“Okay.” Desi said.Anette scrunched her eyebrows. “I sort of expected a more excited response from you.”
Desi stared into the random spoon in her hand. “Well, when you put the whole heirship that way, it doesn’t really lend itself towards excitement.”Anette blinked at her.“You’re not really being yourself today.”“I just have a lot of things on my mind,” She responded. Anette shrugged and left.
Once she was gone, Desi began to pace. “Oh, how am I going to do this! I couldn’t possibly… the only reason Bobby likes me is the voodoo doll.” Desi shifted uncomfortably. “This is sooo not perfect.”
“I can’t take this anymore!” Desi shouted, pulling out the doll. “Undo it!”
“I don’t undo what I have done.” The doll said as it glowed.“Oh really?” Desi asked, glaring at it.
“Let’s see if you still say that when I’ve ripped your head off!” The doll fell to the ground in pieces.
“Oh no! What am I going to do! I’ve ruined everything, but…” Desi shifted her feet. It kind of felt right. But… how was she going to face Bobby now. She slowly went upstairs.
Desi looked up and saw him across the walkway.“Better not put this off,” She murmured.
“I sort of overheard you down there… You used a voodoo doll on me?” He asked.
“Yeah,” Desi said quietly.“I feel strange now. Like I’ve been living in a haze, but was suddenly wrenched out of it.”“I’m sorry,” Desi said and tried to leave.
Bobby stopped her, and continued to speak.“Hey, um… I can’t pretend that this doesn’t change everything. It’s just, I don’t want you to disappear. I can’t really explain why.”
Desi blinked. “What?”
“I remember you, from in the haze, and I’m not sure, really. I just want to get to know you, I guess.”
“…”
“…mmph…”
Brielle blinked.
“Morning sleeping beauty,” The red head announced.“My head…” Brielle said.“Yeah, I think we were both conked on the head and drugged. I’m working on getting us out of this closet right now, oh, scratch that. Got it.”
“So are you coming, or what?” The red head said as she walked out of the room.Brielle followed.
“Looks like this place is abandoned.” The red head thought out loud.“Who are you?” Brielle finally asked her.“Confidential.” Was her short response.
“What are you, a spy?”“Sometimes. I do odd jobs for my employer. Spying is sometimes part of that. Anyway, it looks like we’re in the abandoned vacation home that I was at before I passed out.”“I was here too.”“I suppose that makes sense.”
“That means I’ll need a statement from you.” The girl sighed. “So much paperwork when I mess up.” She muttered.“Oh!” Brielle exclaimed.“That means I’ll have to bring you with me to the downtown of Veronaville.”“That’s great! I live right around there!”
“It’s settled then. You come give a statement, and then I’ll take you home.”“Thanks, but… my brother was with me.”The girl paled. “Um… we’ve probably been unconscious for a few days. He most likely went home. So don’t worry about it.”“Okay…”
Desi slid out of bed the next morning. She walked out to the hall, unsure of what to tell her mom about her relationship. What would she do when another heir failed?
“Bobby? You look different.” Desi asked.“Yup! I got tired of my college look. Was ready for something new.”Desi blinked.
“I’ve got a great day planned, so why don’t you go change, and we’ll get going.”“Okay,” Desi said stunned.
And so they went out.
And so they went out.
And so they went out.
And so they did.
And so they did.
“See, wasn’t that fun?” Bobby asked.“Yeah,” Desi replied.“Better than, um…” Bobby coughed.Desi giggled. “More perfect than then.”
“We should do that again sometime” Desi said.“Yeah.” Bobby took her hand and pulled her close.
The day after this…
“What are we doing here?” Brielle asked.“Best not to specify while in the open.” The girl responded.“But this is Rodney’s Hideout. No one comes here during the day.”“Exactly.” Brielle cocked her head.
They continued inside.
“Is this place even open right now?” Brielle asked.“Not for everyone.”
Brielle smiled.“You know, you aren’t making much sense.”“I just don’t share sensitive matters where others can overhear.”“But no one’s here.”“But you never know.”
Brielle sighed. “So did we come here just to play pool?”The girl laughed. “You might want to brace yourself.”“Why?”A click resounded through the room, and the floor jolted.
Brielle stumbled as the floor moved, nearly losing her balance. The girl laughed again.“That’s why.” The platform continued downward.
“This is so cool! You are a spy!”She shook her head. “No. I’m part of the SCIA. And I’m actually pretty low on the totem pole, merely a field agent. Right now we’re headed to headquarters of SCIA, and the leader of this division.”“Wow, how come you’re suddenly telling me everything?”“Because now we are somewhere secure. That and you’re already involved. The platform jolted to a stop.
“We’re here. You coming?”“Yes!” Brielle exclaimed. The girl laughed again.
“Don’t wander off, now.”“This is so cool!” Brielle glanced around. “But different than I expected. Where’s all the people?”“This hall is rarely used. Everyone else is somewhere else, doing what they do. I really only know what I need to, to be able to do my job effectively.”“You have secrets from each other?”“Yeah. It comes with the work.”
“Strange.” Brielle said, looking into one of the fish tanks. “I can’t imagine keeping secrets from my brother. We work together.”“SCIA is different. What’s up with you and your brother, anyway. You seem so close, are you twins or something?”“Quads actually. Anton’s been my best friend since forever.”“Interesting. We need to keep moving though.”
Brielle smiled. “Do you have a partner that you work with.”“In the loose sense of the word. We have the same cover, but we usually do SCIA jobs alone.”“That seems… lonely.”She shrugged. “Not really.”
They reached the door.“Why are you just standing there?” Brielle asked.“This is where I have to tell my boss that I failed. Miserably. This is not going to be pleasant.”“Won’t he be happy that you’re back and alright?”She glanced over her shoulder. “You have an interesting perspective.”
“Well, can’t put this off any longer.” She said as she entered. Brielle followed, but stayed in the doorway.
“About time you showed up.”
“Three days. You’ve been missing for three days. When you finish a job you are supposed to report in.”“There were… some complications.” She blinked. “Finished?”
“Stop playing dumb.” He grouched.“I… I failed horribly. I let it get away.”“You can’t be serious! You let a rogue vampire get away? You know that the one thing the treaty with the vampire council entails is that we take care of the rogue ones for them, and you let it get away?”“Let isn’t exactly the proper word. I was sort of knocked over the head and locked in a closet. I only got out of there yesterday. And this girl was too.”
“Honestly.” He muttered under his breath. Then he said. “Stop dallying in the door. Come in.”
“So you were locked up too?” He asked.“Yeah, I was there with…”He cut her off. “Stop. I’m in management, not information.”Brielle blinked.
“Obviously there’s more to this story.” He sighed.
“Come along, and keep up.” He said.
“I have some stuff to discuss.” He told the women in the room.
“Oh, hello.” She said. “I thought you’d forgotten I was here.” She said standing up.“I was just informed that the rogue vampire is still at large. And that he isn’t working alone, since both our agent and this girl were knocked out. Why did you tell me it was taken care of?” He asked.
“No, hi? No how are you? It’s been awhile since you talked to me.”“It’s been an hour. Stop being a Diva.”“But that’s what I am.”The agent coughed. The Diva sighed.
She sat back down and flipped a switch. The screens on the wall hummed to life.“I’ve been watching Takemizu very closely. There have been no more reports of the vampire, in fact it appears to me that it left there altogether.
“It’s only been three days. How can you tell?” The agent asked.Diva smiled. “Because I’ve been watching it’s movements. I can usually get shots of it on the camera. Never enough to pick up an identity, but enough to figure out where it’ll strike.”
“How so?”“It stalks its victims for a time before finally attacking. That’s how I knew where he would be for you.”“That’s useful.”“True, but strange. It shows that it plans very carefully. Which is not like most of the rogue vampires we deal with, who just attack whoever wherever.”
“What’s this screen do?” Brielle asked.“Oh, that’s for the local news. Always good to keep up on what the media knows.”“Yeah. I must be behind. Can I watch?”“Be my guest.” Diva flipped another switch and the screen roared to life.
She turned the other screens off again.“It now seems I have more work to do now.” She stood up.“It appears that way.”“I’ll have to go talk to the information division. I’ll be back later.” She walked out of the room.
“Now you,” head of management said, “need to make an appearance as your cover. We can continue this later. Appearances come first.”“All right. I’ll go change.”
She walked off.“Wow,” Brielle said. “Only three days, but it feels like I’m a month behind on the news.”“That tends to happen.”
“Anton and I have to keep up on the news too. We have to for our job.”“Hmm?”
“We do undercover work too. It’s loads of fun, and we get to help people and…” She trailed off when a new story came up.
“Anton Legrand’s funeral was held this morning, after police finally released his body to his family following his suspicious demise.”
“Anton…no.”“About time. I was worried they would figure out he was killed by a vampire. That would have really been bad for our treaty with the council.”
“NO!” Brielle screamed as she slid to the ground. Tears streamed down her face. “Not Anton. No.”
“I’m back!” Agent paused. “What’s this?”“Not a clue. The guy you failed to save finally got a funeral, and then she does this.”
“He was dead? I was hoping, since none of the other victims died…” She trailed off.“I don’t see the big deal.”“What? He was her brother! Of course it’s a big deal.”She went over and lifted Brielle to her feet.
Brielle continued to sob.“I do not deal with this sort of thing. I’m leavening, after all, I have to meeting with the council soon.”
“Hey… I know how much he meant to you.”She waited, but Brielle didn’t respond.“How about I take you home now.”
A bit later…
“Brielle, if you need anything feel free to call me.”“Thanks.” She responded as she left the car.
She shut the door behind her.
“Anton’s… gone. He’s not here…”
Brielle slid down the door.
“I don’t… what do I do?”
“Bobby, Bobby, guess what, GUESS WHAT!”
“Hmm?”
“I’m pregnant!”
And, on this note, is where I leave you. Until next time, happy simming!
