LEGO STARTED ON AUGUST 10 1932 IN Billund Denmark Their First Factory looks like this.

Ole Krik Christiansen was the founder of lego, and he believed in honest work and he had faith in his growing business. Him and his son Godfred were in the most successful time ever in their career of making wooden toys for all the children in their town over the Holidays. To their surprise one evening in 1924 they found their workshop on fire. They were crushed but Ole was still determined to grow their little toy company so using the only money they had left they managed to build a brand new factory.

After The factory was built the company had started to sell their wooden toys for the Holiday season they realized that the money they had scraped together was All of the family’s savings and they soon had found themselves going to bed Hungry so one day Godfred came up to his father and announced he had a genius plan to save money for the Company his plan was to give the toys one coat of paint instead of two.Ole was furious because he felt like his son was cheating their customers so he made Godfred take the toys off the train and put on the second coat of paint.

LEGO Started their business by making pre made wooden toys for the children and as their company started to grow Ole decided to use the money from their toys to buy a plastic moulding machine to make smooth flat blocks without the tubes on the inside. Business was bumping but there were two things in the way,earlier that year Ole was sick with cancer but when it took a turn for the worst everyone was worried about him.And on March 11 1958 Ole died.Everyone was sad but Godfred had a problem with their new LEGO blocks they were not sticking together. Godfred had to think of a new idea so he thought if he put tubes inside the blocks would they stick together then? Well they did.

LEGO What a funny name for a company well Leg Godt means Play Well in Latin and before ole died he wanted a four letter word it had to be catchy but he simply could not think of anything so while he waited for an idea he just named his company Leg Godt. He was desperate for a good name and one day he was looking out his window and though the window panes he saw his company truck and the window panes were covering the letters G D and saw that it said Lego He knew it would be the name for hIS company

Once the company started to get busier Godfred decided to build an airport to ship their blocks to all over the world some stores enjoyed the company’s products so much that they dedicated their whole store to the blocks.
