ViolationofaRuleshouldnot itselfgiverisetoacauseofactionagainstalawyernorshoulditcreateanypresumptioninsuchacasethatalegaldutyhasbeenbreached....TheRulesaredesignedtoprovideguidancetolawyersandtoprovideastructureforregulatingconductthroughdisciplinaryagencies.Theyarenotdesignedtobeabasisforcivilliability.…ThefactthataRuleisajustbasisforalawyer'sself-assessment,orforsanctioningalawyerundertheadministrationofadisciplinaryauthority,doesnotimplythatanantagonistinacollateralproceedingortransactionhasstandingtoseekenforcementoftheRule.Accordingly,nothingintheRulesshouldbedeemedtoaugmentanysubstantivelegaldutyoflawyersortheextra-disciplinaryconsequences ofviolatingsuchaduty.
