Fantastic support for a great program! I’m glad to see that the town willreverse its initial decision to cut this program. The children and theneighborhoods served by R.O.C.K. will continue to see the benefits of thisprogram for years to come. Kudos to the parents for showing their childrenthat their voice is important and for teaching them to speak up for things they believe in.

R.O.C.K = Recreation Outreach for Community Kids. I fully support thisprogram and will be looking for the money somewhere. The challenge theCouncil has is that up until now it was funded from money received fromphilanthropist Irwin Uran. That money ran out last year, so continuing theROCK program is, essentially, an addition to the budget.

The R.O.C.K. program has been mentioned several times in the Times. A complete write up of the program was just published a couple of weeks ago.

PLEASE KEEP THE R.O.C.K PROGRAM!!!! This program has benefited my daughter TREMENDOUSLY, she has a hard time opening up to people, but

when she goes there I hear that she has fun with the kids, and she has allowedherself to interact with other kids her age. Mr. Tony and Miss Betsy has really changed my daughter’s life she just use to keep to herself, and now she cancome and talk to me if she has problems. When I moved to leesburg, I foundthat this program is VERY helpful for the youth of leesburg, because it keepsthem off the streets, and just active. So please Keep the Rock Program, andbring back Miss Betsy and Mr. Tony!!! Thanks….
