Notes to Teachers
Teachers are responsible, at all times, for the supervision and discipline of their pupils during a school visit to the property. Teachers are asked to make accompanying adults aware of their responsibilities.
APPROPRIATE CLOTHING AND FOOTWEAR SHOULD BE WORN
Environmental programmes involve substantial outdoor activity. We strongly advise that waterproof footwear and jackets are worn by all participating pupils and accompanying adults.
Please inform all accompanying staff and pupils that for conservation reasons the following are not permitted in the house:
1. narrow sharp/stiletto heels2. Touching items3. Photography or video equipment

Lavatories, including Disabled facilities, in Stableyard and Farmyard
Adventure play areas for children—please supervise at all times
National Trust Shop (open for visiting schools if requested on the ‘Teachers Confirmation’ Form)
It is recommended that Teachers visit Castle Ward prior to their visit with school, to familiarise themselves with the facilities in the Estate.

This can be purchased for £3.95 from the Education Team at Castle Ward. Teachers wishing to purchase it in advance of their visit should send a cheque for £4.50 (£.3.95 plus p&p) made payable to National Trust Enterprises Ltd.

discover what life was like for a servant here during the Victorian
period.

Education Group Membership is designed to enable low-cost access to
National Trust properties for schools. Education Group Members are
entitled to free entry into properties owned by the National Trust.
Visits should be made during published opening times and must be
booked at least 7 days in advance. When visiting, please ensure that a
valid membership card is produced; otherwise normal party admission
fees will be charged. Education Group Members are entitled to a
