Goals for today….

• Share what the LAMP IPT has done for Knowledge Sharing (Phase II)

• Demystify this “thing” called Knowledge Sharing Assets– What are they?– How are they being used?– What is the level of effort?– How a LAM can support them?

23

Page 24: Learning Asset Management Program (LAMP) Workshop October 12, 2011.

Phase II (Knowledge Sharing) What we have done…

• Documented KS asset lifecycle process workflows and level of effort assessments… answered the questions:– How many assets are there?– How much work are we talking about?– What’s the impact on resources?

• Completed media review• Completed CoP health assessment review• Piloted FPD 301 – Knowledge Sharing Skills (NEW)• Restructured KS assets into 4 key KS types

Knowledge Management and Knowledge Sharing

• LAMP transitioning focus to KM• Knowledge Management (KM) is the core of DAU’s mission

– The KM process incorporates people, policies, processes, and technology working together to provide a systematic process to accurately account for all DAU learning assets while keeping them current and relevant over the life span of the asset. This includes the identification, creation, distribution, and maintenance of all learning assets.

• We are ALL responsible for developing and maintaining DAU’s Body of Knowledge (BoK)

• We share/distribute the BoK through our Training, Continuous Learning, Mission Assistance and Knowledge Sharing Products and Services
