Elgin Pocket Watch History

• Elgin Watch Company existed from 1864 – 1964• Set Up In The City of Elgin, Illinois in Chicago.• City donated 35 acres of land and $25,000 for stock to

help get thm started.• Seven people left the Waltham watch company to start

work for Elgin and became known as The Seven Stars• First movement produced in 1867 and was a Size 18• Diversified and starting making clocks, radios and were a
