Relevant experience
For close to a year, I have served by appointment on the Board of Alameda Health Care
District Board of Directors. During this time, I have worked with the Hospital staff to
create wellness initiative in the City of Alameda called 3Bs whereby the Hospital provides
free screenings for blood glucose, blood pressure, and body mass index. The next element
of the health and wellness initiative will be to identify ways to support health and wellness in
our local schools and for youth in our community. In addition, I have brought my
expertise as an attorney and small business owner to my stewardship of the Hospital and
overseeing the investment that our community makes through the parcel tax.
Why are you running for this office?
I am running to serve on the Board of the Alameda Health Care District in order to do the
following:
Continue to increase the health and wellness of our community through initiativessponsored by Alameda Hospital
Continue to serve as the communitys fiduciary and overseeing its investment in theAlameda Hospital
Continue to ensure that members of our community have access to high qualityhealth care and emergency services all the more critical in a time of crisis
Why should we vote for you?
Voters should vote for me in order to support the above initiatives in our community.
What do you feel are the roles and responsibilities of the office youre seeking?
The roles and responsibilities are to be the fiscal and community steward of the Hospital
and the citizens investment in the Hospital.
What do you think is the most pressing issue you would face if elected and what would youdo to address it?
The most pressing issue faced by the Hospital is the struggling economy and the impact on
small hospitals and members of the community.
