description

Linear reserves in New South Wales, Australia, include roadsides, travelling stock reserves, rail corrodors and utlity easements. They comprise approximately six percent of the State's area. In many parts of NSW linear reserves are the only remaining stands of native vegetation and house several threatened species and endangered ecological communities. The NSW Roadside Environment Committee is a NSW Government Committee of major stakeholders that promotes current best practice to preserve and enhance the State's linear reserves. This article provides details of the Committee's activities.
