Student Services: CISDC Communities in Schools
Communities in Schools of Douglas County, Inc. (CISDC) operates in
collaboration with the Douglas County School System who serves as
its fiscal agent. Unlike other CIS affiliates around the state who are
community organizations, CISDC was initiated by the school system
in 1996 and is integrated as a part of the district.
Student Services: CISDC Communities in Schools 21st Century Community Learning Center Grants serving
15 schools: 5 Elementary, 7 Middle, and 3 High Schools
2011-2012 – served over 1,443 students Summer School – 651 students attended 2012-2013 Projection – to serve over 1,000 students
Mentoring – in all schools and the PLC

Free/Reduced Meal Eligibility: 59% Official percentage refigured every October 31st.
Of the free students, this year 6,879 of them were directly certified by the state, meaning that qualifying for other benefits such as TANF, SNAP, Medicaid, made them qualify for free meals without having to fill out a free/reduced meal application. Of all the applications received, 78% have been paper, and 22% have been on-line meal applications.
