Leadership Summit
LEADTO INSPIRE
Date : 20th April 2013Time : 8.00am – 5.30pmVenue: Lecture Hall G705
In line with our strategic plan for 2013, theme number 5; the student council have decided to hold a
leadership summit with the objective of restructuring the clubs with fun and strategic leadership as the framework.
This summit is aimed to build and impart leadership qualities in the executive committee of all existing clubs in Swinburne so they can be the agent of positive change in campus by practicing effective leadership through club activities. The knowledge and tools for leader-
ship will be provided during this summit by a professional trainer
Outcome of the Leadership Summit include:Accomplish high-quality work faster.
Learn to apply a range of techniques to lead and influence others.Build strategic relationships that increase motivation of peers and team.
Stretch outside of established comfort zones to solve problems and think creatively. Gain a more accurate picture of their leadership brand and learning style.
Develop clear action plans that drive results.The Leadership Summit also aims to foster closer relationship between the clubs and the SSSC as we learn to work and trust each other throughout the various sessions. Social interaction between the various Excos from different clubs during this summit will strengthen the relation-
ship between clubs and promote unity.

Communicationis the key to
success Mr. Manogaran Maniam is an independent management trainer and consultant.
His Professional career spans 43 years and includes portfolios as Gen-eral Manager of a national human resources organisation (MIPM),
Executive director of the Fulbright Commission (MACEE) and Senior Manager of the Malaysian institute of Management.
He has also been a journalist, teacher, lecturer, cultural an-thropologist, environmentalist and social activist.
He performs on stage, TV, films; he is multi-lingual voice over commercials .As an actor, he has performed in Hollywood films
and local Malaysian films in English, Tamil and Malay; he has also performed on stage off-Broadway in New-York City in 2003 and a one
man show in London in 2008,as well as in india,Singapore,Indonesia and Australia.
His Academic Background include BA in Geography from the University of Malaya(1968) and a Master of Art in International Administration from the school for international training in Vermont,USA(1977).He was the founding Chairman of the Centre for Environment, technology and development (CETDEM)and out-going president of Environmental Protection Society of Malaysia(EPSM)and the Fulbright Alumni Association of
Malaysia and the out-going Deputy President of the Case Writers Association of Malaysia(CWAN)Mano has been awarded several international fellowships, notably the prestigious Fulbright Distinguished Artist Award 2000 and was a visiting Scholar/Adjunct Professor at San Diego State University and Loyola Uni-
versity in the USA in 2004; he was a resident Henry B.Luce Scholar at Ohio University.He is also a Certified Professional Trainer under the Human Resource Skills Development Programme of Minis-
