Module Two: The Evolution of Leadership
Leadership itself has not evolved, but our understanding of it has.
It is important to understand why very different leadership styles can be effective, why the same leadership techniques will not work in every situation, and which leadership style fits your personality best.
Do not repeat
the tactics
which have
gained you one
victory, but let
your methods
be regulated by
the infinite
variety of
circumstances.

Module Five: Modeling the Way
Remember that the best leaders are examples of what they want their followers to be. By definition, a leader is in the lead, right up front, ready to take the heat if something goes wrong. If something does go wrong, a true leader never blames his followers even if in fact they failed.
Some look at
things that are,
and ask why. I
dream of things
that never were
and ask why
not?

leadership at
one time meant
muscles; but
today it means
getting along
with people.

begun is half
ended.

Words from the Wise
Thucydides
• The bravest are surely those who have the clearest vision of what is before them, glory and danger alike, and yet notwithstanding, go out and meet it.
Woodrow Wilson
• The ear of the leader must ring with the voices of the people.
