    Fasting is a spiritual discipline where wecan put ourselves before God, alone,

    undisturbed in His presence,with the abstinence of food

    and some substance. Thisdiscipline is exactly a self denial, humbling self to

    reach out God, to seek Hisguidance, His will, and to ask His divine intervention for aworthy cause.

    Now and onward till the close of time the people of God should bemore earnest, more wide-awake,not trusting in their own wisdom,but in the wisdom of their Leader.They should set aside days for fasting and prayer. Entireabstinence from food may not be

    required, but they should eatsparingly of the most simple food.--CD 188, 189 (1904).{LDE 82.2}

    Fasting that result to an intimaterelation with our Lord will drivedemons away, demons cannot

    stand over a person who havethe spirit of God in the lives. Demons cannot stay aroundtoo long when a person fasts,

    because fasting unto Godcreates a totally differentatmosphere that welcomes theholy and repel the unholy.
