Sit next to someone whose first name begins with the same letter as your first name.
Example: Amanda and Ashley
Introduction WELCOME!
Journal Prompt
Write using complete sentences and use personal experience for examples. Why did you sign up for this class? What do you hope to achieve? Why is that achievement important to you?
What is your best leadership trait? List three and explain a time when you demonstrated these traits.
What is a leadership trait that you admire in other people and why?
What are you excited about this year and what are you worried about?

Pair up with a partner who was born in the same month as you.
Read your journal responses to each other and discuss what you wrote.
Choose either a commonality or difference to share out to the class.
Starting with January partners and ending with December partners, share the commonality or difference you and your partner discussed.
Reflect
Review your journal response.
Write a goal and/or hope for your year – state it in one well crafted statement. Leadership or otherwise. How do you plan to achieve your goal/hope?
Write a short hand written letter to me. Include the salutation “Dear Ms. Keller,” and conclude with “Sincerely,” and your signature.
