Regional Academy Program 2015

The Regional Academy Program (RAP) forms an important step in the athlete pathway.

• 12 x Regional Academies in Queensland• 12 x RAP Coaches and Managers in each region• Introduction of a generic Strength & Conditioning Program (Acceleration) in 2015

for consistency in testing and online monitoring of athletes• Athletes selected from Nov/Dec 2014 – October 2015• Athletes follow the Dare to Develop a Diamond resource – Netball Australia• Age group – 14-16 year olds• Further Talent Identification occurs at State Age for additional athletes to be

included in the program

Netball Queensland Academy 2015

Introduced in 2015 – similar to NSWIS/SASI program NQ Academy Coach appointed – Christine Voge 30 athletes selected (additional added as invitee from Qld 17/19’s and TiD from State Age) Athletes follow the Develop a Diamond Academy curriculum – Netball Australia Individual focus sessions conducted Camp sessions conducted Position specific specialist sessions Video monitoring of athletes (shooting focus)

Coach Mentoring 2015

Key focus in 2015 has been RAP Coach mentoring and development program. This has occurred through:

- Mentoring and skill video analysis sessions during January camp (HP/elite Coaches included Jill McIntosh, Roselee Jencke, Kylee Byrne, Lauren Nourse etc)

- GoTo Meeting communication program used continually through the season for RAP Coaches to discuss athlete development and programming

- Video analysis on all coaches during sessions – monitored and assessed by NQ Academy coach for feedback

- Target Coach Development Plan – each RAP completed for development and mentoring throughout season

- NQ Academy Coach sessions – completed in each region throughout July/August

- HP opportunities at ANL/Firebirds matches
