Main Results of WP6

Task 1: Material for heat transfer components• The thresshold stress/strain below which influence of Pb is neglectable was

estimated from creep tests at 550 °C – 120 MPA/ strain 2-4%• The heat conductivity of T91 for the ´normal´ (FeCr)- oxide scales was

measured – in the temperature range 350 – 500 °C the value is by ~50 % larger than values from literature. To proof the data additional experiments are planned.

• The Cr-Al concentration for selective oxidation (alumina only) was estimated experimentally for the temperature range from 400 -600 °C.

• Fretting maps for T91/T91 and 15-15Ti steels in lead were established as function of specific wear coeff.- load – amplitude. High load and small apmlitudes are most favorable to reduce the wear.

Task 2: Materials for mechanical pump• HELENA –loop under construction at ENEA. Tests for pump materials will

start in April 2013. Ta-coating will be tested first.• Refurbishment of CORELLA finished. Tests with rotation speed according to

10m/s successful. Tests with Maxthal, T91, SiSiC, Noriloy, GESA will start in December 2012.

Main Results of WP6

Task 3: Oxygen control and purification strategy Strategy on monitoring and control of the oxygen activity in a pool type reactor and purification of lead during plant operation were established. Required oxygen amount was calculated.KIT promised to do some estimation on tritium….

Task 4: Damping pressure waves inside the SG LIFUS 5 passed the approval by safety authorities and is under commissioning. Experiments will start in March 2013. Some issues on the experimental setup are still under discussions.

Task 5: Scientific and technology collaboration with ROSATOM New CooA has been sent to RF nominated representatives in June 2012 and

foresee a two days meeting to be organized preferably before march 2013 covering the four topics- now reaction from Russia up to now.

At the EUROATOM/ROSATOM-Meeting in Brussels (Oct. 2012) it was promised by ROSATOM representative to reconsider our proposal….
