    rapidly eliminate hazardous substances

    from its products.

    ISO14001 is an international

    standard for environmental

    management systems. Companies

    that are ISO14001 registered have

    demonstrated an internal program forthe management of hazardous waste and

    implementation of recycling programs. This

    international recognition certifies a companys

    commitment to preserving the natural environment. A majority of

    PDs manufacturing partners are ISO14001 registered, and are

    routinely reviewed to ensure continued compliance.

    PD Circuits has qualified a wide variety of RoHS compliant surface

    finish alternatives.

    Lead Free and RoHS Compliant Initiative

    PD Circuits is a leader in providing an extensive array of leadfree printed circuit board solutions. PDs lead free products are

    fully RoHS compliant, meeting the European Parliament Directive

    2002/95/EC Restrictions on the use of Hazardous Substances

    (RoHS). This directive prohibits the use of the following elements

    in electrical/electronic equipment sold after 7/1/2006:

    Mercury (Hg) 1000

    Cadmium (Cd) 100

    Hexavalent Chromium (Cr+6) 1000

    *MCV - Maximum concentration values allowed in homogeneous materials

    PDs lead free products are compliant with this directive today,

    well ahead of the July, 2006 deadline.

    Solder Mask and Silkscreen/Nomenclature Considerations

    All PD solder masks are RoHS compliant. Solder mask data

    sheets are available upon request. Currently, white and black

    silkscreen are documented as RoHS compliant. Other colors,

    such as yellow, should be avoided as they may contain cadmium

    or other banned substances.

    The assembly of lead free products requires the use of material that will not break down at higher processing temperatures. To

    better facilitate the industry transition to lead free PCBs, PD Circuits offers the following broad assortment of standard, off-the-shelf,

    Please refer to datasheet for specific support. The principle performance criteria for lead free processing capability is Td (decomposition temperature) >340C.

    Green Halogen Free PCBs

    PD offers halogen free PCBs including halogen free

    laminate and solder mask. Halogen, a flame retardant, is

    included in many electronic products, but is not one of the

    RoHS substances.

    RoHS Compliant Material Identification and Packaging

    PD provides a RoHS Certification of

    Conformance (C of C) with all shipments. To

    allow easy identification of all RoHS compliant

    products and materials, all PD Circuits

    packaging has a RoHS/Pb-Free label.

    IPC-1752 RoHS Materials Declaration Standard

    Compliance requires that PD and our suppliers understand

    the material composition of our productsfrom FR4

    laminate, solder mask, silkscreen, and plating, to surface

    finish and finished boards. PD will provide you with

    technical documentation and supplier declarations to

    support your due diligence. You are expected to provide

    this documentation upon request of EU regulators.

    Suggested Print Notes

    Material must be RoHS compliant and lead free process

    compatible with Td > 340C.
