ABOUT USSAE Towers is one of the world's largest producers of steel structures for high voltage power transmission.

Tubular steel pole operations are located at our plant in Monterrey Mexico, situated within easy access of US markets. We produce many varieties of poles including light duty (LD) poles, single circuit double circuit H-frames and overhead-to-underground transitions, all with or without underbuilt circuit supports.

We are the industry's most complete in-house resource for transmission structures and related services. Our in-house design, detailing, prototyping, galvanizing, testing, manufacturing and supply capabilities give us unmatched ability to provide your Optimized Transmission Structure Solution.

We have streamlined our workflow, integrating design and manufacturing technology, resulting in accelerated cycle time, higher quality levels and increased production rates to meet today’s fast growing demand. A complete prototype is made and assembled before any pole components go into production to carefully check for proper fit.

CERTIFICATIONS

MATERIAL

The present catalog covers the Pre-Engineered standard LD Pole designs that SAE Towers supplies. These designs are provided with the highest standards of quality, reliability and timely delivery.

SAE Light Duty (LD) pre-engineered poles meet or exceed the loading as provided by RUS Bulletin 1724E-214. Pole strengths are based on the requirements of ASCE48-11 and RUS Bulletin 1724E-214 for all of your wood pole replacement needs.

There are several advantages of steal over wood such as:

Our pole manufacturing is based on high levels of output and reliability resulting from our quality driven processes. Our plant conforms to AISC fabricating procedures and has achieved several coveted quality, safety and environmental certifications.

All steel conform to ASTM A871 (Self Weathering) or ASTM A572 {Galvanized) Grade 65.

All steel materials and welding meet the thoughness properties verified by Charpy V-notch tests.

All welding is done in accordance with the latest edition of structural welding code AWS D1.1

LOADING, GEOMETRY,ANALYSIS AND DESIGNStructural Analysis and design are performed in accordance with RUSbulletin 1724E-214 and ASCE48-11.

All poles are 12-sidsd polygon with a constant taper.

All poles are analyzed with a non-linear analysis.

Slip-jointed poles are designed according to ASCE 48-11.
