Early Education Advocates Proposing Reinvestment

• Increase access in elementary schools with high concentrations of target populations:

– Low income

– ELL

– Foster youth

• Restore professional development for early education teachers

• Restore and improve parent education and engagement

• Increase current LAUSD contribution to Early Education from $74.5 M to $96.9M over 3 years

• The $22,350,000 increase is distributed over the next 3 years incrementally

– Year 1: $4,470,000
