• Point your remote control directly at theIR sensor located on your TV.

• Make sure that no objects are blockingthe path between the remote control andthe IR sensor on your TV.

Before setting upyour TV

Some TV models are packaged with a

detached Table-Top Stand so you canmount your TV to a wall right away. Seepage 21 (Using a Wall-Mount Bracket) if you 5"*"want to mount the TV to a wall. If you are not '_mounting the TV to a wall, you will need toattach the Table-Top Stand. You will need a ,%Phillips screwdriver (not supplied) and the _.supplied screws to complete the task. Lookfor the supplied Table-Top Stand instructionleaflet.Be sure to consider the following whilesetting up your TV:• Disconnect all cables when carrying the

TV.• Carry the TV with the adequate number

of people; larger size TVs require two ormore people.

• Correct hand placement while carryingthe TV is very important for safety and toavoid damage.

Fluorescent lamps can interfere with yourremote control; try turning off thefluorescent lamps.If you are having problems with theremote control, reinsert or replace yourbatteries and make sure that they arecorrectly inserted.

Ensure your TV has adequate ventilation,see page 21.For best picture quality, do not exposethe screen to direct illumination orsunlight.Avoid installing the TV in a room withreflective wall and floor materials.Avoid moving the TV from a cold area toa warm area. Sudden room temperaturechanges may cause moisturecondensation. This may cause the TV toshow poor picture and/or poor color.Should this occur, allow moisture toevaporate completely before poweringthe TV on.

• if using an electric screwdriver, set thetorque at approximately 1.5 N.m{15 kgf.cm}.

To detach the Table-Top Stand from the TV,remove the screws ,_ fixed in step 2.

• Do not remove the Table-Top Stand for anyreason other than to install correspondingaccessories on the TV.

• Be sure the TV is vertical before turning on.To avoid uneven picture uniformity do notpower on the TV with the LCD panel facingdown.

• When installing the TV on a wall, remove thescrews from the rear of the TV. Be sure to

store the removed screws in a safe place,keeping them away from children.

• When attaching the Table-Top Stand again,be sure to fasten the screws (previouslyremoved) to the original holes on the rear ofthe TV.

• If Auto Input Change (MHL) is set to On, theTV automatically switches to HDMI iN 2/MHLfrom other input when MHL-compatibledevice is connected to HDMI IN 2/MHL jack.The availability of Auto Input Change (MHL)depends on whether the MHL-compatibledevice can support this feature.

• You can continue normal usage of theconnected MHL-compatible device (such asreceiving calls) depending on its capability.

• Some remote control functions may not beavailable depending on features of theconnected MHL-compatible device. Pleaserefer to the device manual for details.

• if Charge MHL during Power Off is set toOn, you can continue charging the MHL-compatible device even when the TV is instandby mode.

• This product is officially MHL-certified foroperation with other MHL-certified devices, ifyou encounter any problems when using theMHL function, please consult the devicemanufacturer for support.

3: Securing the TV

Sony strongly recommendstaking measures to preventthe TV from toppling over.Unsecured TVs may toppleand result in propertydamage, serious bodilyinjury or even death.

• Secure the TV to a wall and/or stand.• Do not allow children to play or climb on

furniture and TV sets.• Avoid placing or hanging items on the

TV.• Never install the TV on:

- slippery, unstable and/or unevensurfaces.

- furniture that can easily be used assteps, such as a chest of drawers.

• Install the TV where it cannot be pulled,pushed, or knocked over.

• Route all AC power cords andconnecting cables so that they are notaccessible to curious children.

Consider the following measures whensecuring your TV to a Stand (not supplied).

1 Secure the Stand for the TV.

Make sure the Stand can adequatelysupport the weight of the TV. Use twoangle braces (not supplied) to securethe stand. For each angle brace use theappropriate hardware to:• Attach one side of the angle brace to

the wall stud.• Attach the other side to the Stand.

Before bundling the cables, remove thecable holder from the AC cover. Reuse thecable holder to bundle the other cables.

• Your TV is shipped with screws attachedto the rear of the TV depending on the TVmodel. (They are fastened in the screwholes for wall mounting.) Be sure toremove the upper two screws prior toanchoring the TV to a wall.

• Securing the TV to the stand withoutsecuring the TV and the stand to the wallprovides minimum protection against theTV toppling over. For further protection,be sure to follow the three measuresrecommended.

The built-in wireless LAN device allows youto access the Internet and your homenetwork. With this feature, you can connectto a wireless LAN and enjoy the benefits ofnetworking in a cable-free environment.Before setting up the wireless LAN functionof the TV, be sure to set up a wireless LANrouter.

6: Running initialsetup

Press _,/_/_,f,_ to select an item, thenpress _.Follow the instructions on the screen.

• Home mode sets the TV to settingsoptimized for home viewing (this settingis ENERGY STAR compliant).

1 Complete your cable connections before

proceeding with the Initial Setup.Connect the TV to your nearest poweroutlet.

2 Press I/_ on the TV. The illumination

LED will light up in white.

When you switch on the TV for the firsttime, the Language menu appears onthe screen.

• When you turn on the TV for the first time,the TV requires some internal processingfor optimization before you can performthe initial setup. There will be no pictureand sound, and the illumination LED onthe front of the TV blinks white for about

40 seconds. Do not turn off the TV duringthis process.This process has been completed at thefactory for some TVs.

• The illumination LED lights up in differentcolors according to the status of the TV.if you do not wish to light up theillumination LED, you can turn it off later.Press HOME, then select Settings --*Preferences --* Front PanelIllumination --* Illumination LED --*Off. You can also press OPTIONS, thenselect Illumination LED --* Off.

Scan for available channels. If youreceive channels from a cable box orsatellite receiver and do not wish to usethe TV's built-in tuner, select Skip.

Set up the Internet settings. If you do notaccess the Internet, or to set up later,select Skip. After you select Continue orStart (depending on model) at theInternet setup confirmation screen,select Auto to connect to the networkautomatically. Select Custom to connectmanually.

• if you use WEP security, select Custom--* Wireless Setup --* Scan. Then,select the network name (SSID) you wantto connect, if you cannot find therequired network name, select [ManualEntry] and press (_ to enter networkname.

• To set Network Setup later, pressHOME, then select Settings --* Network--* Network Setup,

• Use the optional USB Wireless LANAdapter to connect with your wirelessrouter (or access point) at 5GHz. insertUSB Wireless LAN Adapter and set Wi-FiDirect to Off. Press HOME, then selectSettings --* Network --* Wi-Fi Direct --*Off.

Using a Wall-MountBracket

Your TV can be mounted on a wall using aWall-Mount Bracket (not supplied) out of thebox as packaged. If the Table-Top Stand isattached to the TV, the TV may requiredetaching the Table-Top Stand; seepage 11 (Detaching the Table-Top Standfrom the TV).Prepare the TV for the Wall-Mount Bracketbefore making cable connections.

For product protection and safetyreasons, Sony strongly recommends thatinstallation of your TV on the wall beperformed by qualified professionals. Donot attempt to install it yourself.• Follow the instruction guide provided

with the Wall-Mount Bracket for yourmodel. Sufficient expertise is required ininstalling this TV, especially to determinethe strength of the wall for withstandingthe TV's weight.

• The length of the screw for Wall-MountBracket differs depending on themounting hook thickness. Please seebelow illustration.

Troubleshooting

When the illumination LED is flashing in red, count how many times it flashes(interval time is three seconds).Press I/_ on the TV to turn it off, disconnect the AC power cord, and contact Sony CustomerSupport (information provided on the front cover) with how many times the indicator flashes.

When the illumination LED is not flashing, check the items in the table asfollows.Also refer to "Troubleshooting" in the i-Manual. If the problem persists, contact Sony CustomerSupport (information provided on the front cover).

• Turn on the TV. While holding down t. on the remotecontrol, press I/_ on the TV. (The TV will turn itself off,then back on again.) Release t..WARNING: The reset will clear all of your customizedsettings including the Parental Lock setting.

• Perform a simple reset of the TV by unplugging theAC power cord for two minutes, then plug it in again.

How to care for your BRAVIA TV

Safety is very important. Please read and follow the safety documentation (Safety Booklet)separately provided.

Unplug the TV and other connected equipment from the walloutlet before you begin cleaning your TV.• Wipe the LCD screen gently with a soft cloth.• Stubborn stains may be removed with a cloth slightly

moistened with a solution of mild soap and warm water.• If using a chemically pretreated cloth, please follow the

instruction provided on the package.• Never spray water or detergent directly on the TV set. It

may drip to the bottom of the screen or exterior parts andenter the TV set, and may cause damage to the TV set.

• Never use strong solvents such as a thinner, alcohol orbenzine for cleaning.

• Do not plug in the TV into the wall outlet until the moisturefrom cleaning has evaporated.

The TV should also be placed on a stable surface to prevent it from toppling over (seepage 17). If you have young children or pets at home, check regularly to ensure the TV issecurely fastened.
