This project was to design a museum that would showcase paintings and sculpture for artist Anselm Kiefer and is located in New York city.

In Keifer’s art there is a sense of decay that is portrayed in both materiality and content of his work. Throughout my design I tried to imagine that the building would be transformed by the concept of decomposition in were the “decay of space” would behold the beauty of the space created.

The concept of decomposing was applied to how the building was formed. The circulation was subtracked as a void throughout the building creating shape and encouraging movement throughout.

This cut/viod was situated on the East façade to do three things: 1) act as a light well to the entire building with a build in scoop to catch southern light and 2)connect to the highline and 3)expose the stunning cityscape view of downtown New York.

The project was to design a church for the Manhattan Menonnite Comunity. The key concept was to help the Mennonite congregation branch out to the surrounding neighborhood with the use of an open �oor plan. The building acts as a �lter between the functions of the church and how they are spread throughout the site.

The building was designed to allow circulation to have many implied paths that dicest the major interior space.

[adapt] BROADMOOR USGBC Design Compition New Orleans

For three weeks in the summer of 2010, 7 third-year architecture students at Kansas State University undertook the USGBC Natural Talent Design Competition. We were tasked with designing an 800 square foot house for elderly residents in the Broadmoor neighbor-hood of New Orleans, Louisiana. In addition, the house needed to meet the requirements for LEED for Homes Platinum certi�cation, stay within a $100,000 construction budget, and use universal design principles throughout.
