Keeping Our Greens FirmCORE AERIFICATION

is essentia l to keep

playing surfaces healthy

and in good condition.

Aerification helps to

control organic matter,

relieve soil compaction,

stimulate root growth and improve drainage.

Coral Ridge typically performs this process in

the warm, summer months when the grass is

growing at a faster rate and the turf has the

best opportunity to recover quickly.

As greens age, more organic material

(decaying roots, stems and other plant parts)

is present in the profile which makes up the

top two-inch layer just underneath the

putting surface creating a sponge effect.

Organic matter causes higher disease rates,

softness and reduces the greens ability to

drain quickly.

Aeration holes provide an empty channel

to fill with new, clean sand which creates a

firmer surface. The bigger the core the better.

The more new sand that can be put in the

greens profile, the better the green will

perform in the long run. We are always

monitoring the health of our greens, and

aerification, along with topdressing, is one of

the most important ways we can keep our

greens beautiful, healthy and in top condi-

tion for the enjoyment of our Members, so

you’ll see these practices increase as we head

into the warmer months. For the course

maintenance schedule, please see page 15.

Special club events, wine dinners, Saturday night seafood buffets and holiday dining are popular events that sell out and requirethe purchase of special food and beverage products, equipment, entertainment, etc. Last minute un-replaced cancellations(including changes to the party number) are unfair to those Members who are turned away due to full capacity and cause theClub to incur unnecessary expenses if the reservation is not replaced. As a result, the Club must exercise a firm enforcement ofthe special event and holiday dining policy.

• At the time of making your reservation we will charge your account 100% of the event price.

• Please let us know if you have other Members dining with you, so we may contact them.

• You may cancel 7 days prior to event, without being charged.

• If you cancel less than 7 days prior to the event, you will have to pay 100% of the event price.

Note: Should there be a wait list and we are able to fill your reservation less than 6 days prior to the event, your account will becredited in full.
