Female FoeticideThe Prenatal Diagnostic Techniques (Regulation and Prevention) Act, 1994 Provides the regulation of the use of PNDT

for the purpose of detecting genetic or metabolic disorders or chromomsomal abnormalities or certain congenital malformations or sex linked disorders, and

Provides for the prevention of the misuse of such techniques for the purpose of prenatal sex determination leading to female foeticide.
