LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINING PROGRAMS
The men & women of the law enforcement community in the United States
are the best in the world. They are on the cutting-edge between the enemies
of freedom on the streets of our nation and its citizens.
In the 21st Century, the internet, smart phones, and the social media
revolutions have caused the civil environment in the United States to
become more and more anti-authoritarian & militant. Violence similar to
that experienced in the 1960’s, is again on the rise across the nation.
On average, one law enforcement officer is killed in the line of duty in the U.S.
every 61 hours and more than 20,000 police officers have lost their lives in the line
of duty since the first known line-of-duty death in 1791, according to the National
Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund.
Gryphon Group is considered one of the top combat pre-mission training
company’s in the world. Since 2001, we have trained over 35,000 American War-
fighters, Special Operations Operators, Military Intelligence Personnel, and
Federal Agents.
Over the last 18 years, the majority of our clients have been the
military special forces and military intelligence communities. These
men & women find themselves in highly fluid and unpredictable
dangerous environments that are very similar to the circumstances
that many law enforcement officers find themselves in on street
every-day in the United States.
ANNOUNCEMENT: In 2020, we are proud to announce that Gryphon is now offering the same world-class
training to America’s law enforcement professionals that we have provided to Army Special Forces Teams,
Navy SEAL Teams, Marine Special Operations Teams, the U.S. Marshals, FBI Special Agents, and many
others over the years.
These law enforcement officer programs are significantly better than most other courses in the
industry.
Gryphon Law Enforcement Training Programs are focused around five real-world areas:
1. Being ready for the unexpected
2. Practicing tactics worse-case scenarios in very realistic conditions
3. Surviving close-proximity unexpected attacks
4. Enhancing Police Canine Capabilities
5. Stopping hemorrhaging after being shot or stabbed until EMTs arrive

Police Canine – Tactical Combat Causality Care Course (#LEOTCCC-0902)
Gryphon’s Canine-TCCC training is offered in partnership with Dr. Janice
Baker, the founder of the Veterinarian Tactical Group, who are the leading
providers of this type of training in the United States.
The ability to render these life-saving techniques to the Officer’s Canine Partner after it is
wounded during a gun-fight or knife attacks is a vital skill-set for a Police Canine Team.
Gryphon’s 3-Day Police Canine - Tactical Combat Casualty Care Course has
four focus areas:
Canine Physiology: Knowing the normal vital signs, behavior, and when to treat life
threatening injuries in working dogs is paramount to the survival of the dog, team, and
mission. Students will learn how to conduct a primary and secondary survey of
working dogs in the field with an emphasis on assessments in hostile and austere
operational environments. Students will have a brief of working dog injuries,
assessment and treatment of shock, and maintenance of the working canine.
Common Wounds & Mechanisms of Injury: Working canines present a unique pattern
of injuries whether ballistic or blast injury. We will cover all injuries sustained by working
dogs in the field based on injuries seen in combat in Afghanistan, Iraq, & Syria as well as
during Police actions here in the United States. Students will learn how to assess, treat,
and monitor life threatening injuries in working canines.
Canine Trauma Management: C-TCCC is derived from the human TCCC
guidelines and adapted for the uniqueness of canine anatomy and physiology.
Using the MARCHE algorithm, successful point of injury care and long-term
treatment during evacuation to the veterinarian has been proven by canine
handlers and human medical professionals alike.
Treatment of a Wounded Canine during a Police Action Scenarios:
Students will receive hands-on, in-depth instruction with scenarios
focusing on injured working dogs in hostile operational work
environments.
Scenarios will cover skills taught over the previous days. In hostile
environments, minutes count, we will incorporate all skills from point of
injury through each phase of treatment until we arrive at the combat
hospital or the veterinary treatment facility.

3-Day Police Officer – Counter Ambush Training Course (#LEOCAT-0903)
Gryphon’s counter-ambush training is battle-tested & combat proven. This course
focuses on recognizing & avoiding potential ambush situations.
If an ambush cannot be avoided, this course will allow each
Officer to experience these types of ambushes in very realistic
unpredictable conditions.
Each Officer will fight their way out of ambush scenarios that
have actually occurred in the United Sates to Police Officers
during force-on-force drills and live-fire drills.
Recent events
clearly demonstrate the vulnerabilities of Police Officers when
faced with a determined criminal in an ambush scenario. All too
often, Officers lack sufficient counter-ambush training to
determine the best course of action to survive in the initial moments
of an unanticipated ambush-style attack.
Gryphon Group draws on a deep history of nearly two decades
conducting counter-ambush training for military and federal
agencies directly involved in the global war on terrorism.
Coupled with real world experience, Gryphon is able to present the training in a scenario-based format that
immerses the Police Officer in simulated real-world ambushes and identifies strategies for avoiding or countering
these types of attack.
Gryphons Groups 3-Day Police Officer Counter Ambush Training includes, but is not limited to:
1. Understanding the Composition and Form of Ambush Attacks
2. Recognizing the environment as a force multiplier for the attacker
3. Understanding the role of mobility in surviving ambush attacks
4. Recognizing the importance of the Initial Tactical Read
5. Understanding Sight Lines and Cover Lines
6. Establishing Single Responder protocols
7. Establishing Multiple Responder Protocols
8. Understanding the role of communication in Multi-Responder protocols
9. Live Fire Break Contact Immediate Action Drills for the Police Officer

3-Day Tactical Self-Aid for the Police Officer (#LEOTSA-0904) Just like a Soldier on the battle-field, an Officer’s ability to stop the hemorrhaging
of a gun-shot wound or knife attack on themselves or their partner, can mean the
difference in living or dying.
Each officer will practice with CAT Tourniquets and pressure bandages
during simulated gun-fights trained by Special Forces Medics.
The Officer will assess for unrecognized hemorrhage and control all sources
of bleeding during realistic force-on-force scenarios and use a recommended
limb tourniquet to control life-threatening external hemorrhage that is
anatomically amenable to tourniquet use or for any traumatic amputation.
Each student will apply it directly to the skin 2-3 inches above the bleeding
site. If bleeding is not controlled with the first tourniquet, apply a second
tourniquet side-by-side with the first.
For compressible (external) hemorrhage not amenable to limb
tourniquet use, the students will use Combat Gauze as the hemostatic
dressing of choice.
Hemostatic dressings should be applied with at least 3 minutes of direct
pressure. Each dressing works differently, so if one fails to control
bleeding, it may be removed and a fresh dressing of the same type or a
different type applied.
All of the medical techniques taught will be practiced in very realistic
scenarios where the Officer must treat themselves or a fellow Officer
for a knife wound or gun-shot.
$899 per Officer:
Must bring duty gear & weapon – Gryphon provides Simunitions & Medical Kit.
6 Students Minimum to form class.

3-Day Surviving Close-Proximity Weapons Attacks Course (#LEOCPA-0905)
Whether during a vehicle-stop, during an entry into a home during a domestic,
a search for a suspect, or while conducting an investigation, an un-expected
close-proximity gun-fight is a very real possibility.
These attacks are the hardest to counter because they come seemingly
with no warning and usually when we are focused on some task. Each
Officer will practice these types of fights in very realistic force-on-force
scenarios and live-fire drills.
A large percentage of Officers murdered in the line of duty are killed in
close proximity attacks, well within the reactionary gap. Although the
very nature of law enforcement requires officers to be in close
proximity to potentially violent offenders, there are tactics and
procedures which can significantly increase officer survivability when
an encounter turns deadly.
Building on decades of Defensive Weapons Training with elite
military and Federal agencies, Gryphon Group has helped thousands
of operators increase their survivability when working in close
proximity to violent criminals in the War on Terrorism.
“Surviving Close Proximity Weapons Attacks” examines the
precursor behaviors, responses to and relevant environmental factors
that affect the outcome of each armed encounter. Using a combination
of live fire drills and force-on-force scenarios, the officer discovers
that what “works on the range” may actually decrease their
survivability in a real-world encounter.
Topics include but are not limited to:
• Anticipated vs. Unanticipated – the Deadly Distinction
• Understanding the “21 Foot Rule”
• Speed of the Draw vs. Certainty of the Draw
• Movement as a Counter-Measure
• Shooting while Moving
• Understanding Sight Lines and How to Break them
• Pre-Incident Indicators
• Changing the Line of Attack as a Counter-Measure
• Shooting from Positions of Disadvantage
• Countering the Edged Weapon Threat
• Force Continuum Review
• Case Law Review

Law Enforcement Vehicle Operations Course (#LEOVO-0906)
Fatal traffic crashes involving Law Enforcement personnel remain the leading
cause of non-felonious line of duty deaths in America. All too often, law
enforcement agencies lack the necessary resources to conduct much needed,
life-saving driver training for their First Responder personnel.
Building on the principles of driver training each Police Officer receives in basic training, Gryphon Group’s
3-Day “Law Enforcement Vehicle Operations Course” addresses the “human factors” of driving while under
stress and adrenalin saturation, factors like loss of depth perception, loss of peripheral vision and a reduction
in fine motor control. Here are three key statistics:
1) Each year, there are approximately 300 fatalities in the U.S. that occur during police pursuits.
2) Just over 30% of the fatalities occurred to people who were not involved in the pursuit.
3) Police officers have roughly double the rate of the general public.
Operating a Patrol Vehicle is a point of vulnerability for all Officers. This course will focus on maintaining control
of the patrol vehicle under stress and in a fluid environment. The PIT Maneuver, Tactical Ramming, Weapon
Engagement from Vehicle, Accident Avoidance, and Advanced EVOC Techniques will be covered and practiced
in realistic exercises. Gryphons 3 Day “Law Enforcement Vehicle Operations Course” includes:

Dynamic Entry Strategies for Special Teams (#LEODE-0907)
All SWAT Teams need quick, flexible methods to gain entrance to the target
suspect. This course will provide hands-on experience to mechanical & Shotgun
breaching methods that will be practiced in realistic exercises.
Whether securing a structure for a search, capturing a high-risk criminal or
rescuing a hostage, Dynamic Entry presents a major risk to Special Teams
personnel. Forcibly entering an unknown structure places the Special Teams
member at a significant disadvantage in the event of an attack.
Gryphon Group’s 3-Day “Dynamic Entries for Special Teams” examines
the techniques and strategies proven to increase survivability in these
circumstances. Gryphon Group capitalizes on nearly two decades of
training military and federal law enforcement special operations teams
from around the globe to examine strategies and techniques commonly
used to address dynamic clearing
At the core of this curriculum is an examination of the Human Factors
involved in successful dynamic clearing. Through a better understanding of
how the human brain processes information, the Operator is better able to
select the correct technique for each dynamic clearing problem they
encounter.
This course is conducted in Gryphon’s 4,000 square foot two-story,
completely furnished, force-on-force Building Search Facility and
incorporates trained role players in both the combatant and non-combatant
roles. Complete camera coverage of the facility allows for comprehensive
after-action learning.
This course addresses Strategies and Techniques from a successful breach
forward and includes:

Building Searches for Police Officers Course (#LEOBS-0908)
Clearing a building, one room at a time, while deep searching for a suspect, is
one of the most dangerous things an Officer will do during their career. This
course will deeply explore this tactical problem in very realistic drills with
role players and force-on-force drills.
Building searches present a major risk to First Responder personnel on a
daily basis. Whether as a result of a burglar alarm, an open door or a well-
being check, entering an unknown structure places the First Responder at
a significant disadvantage in the event of an attack.
Gryphon Group’s 3-Day “Building Searches for First Responder” examines the techniques and strategies
proven to increase survivability in these circumstances. Differentiating between tactics used by SWAT Teams
and Hostage Rescue Teams, this course demonstrates how an understanding of sight lines coupled with a
fundamental knowledge of clearing techniques can increase officer survivability.
At the core of this curriculum is an examination of the Human Factors
involved in successful building clearing. Through a better understanding
of how the human brain processes information, the Officer is better able
to select the correct technique for each clearing problem they encounter.
This program includes:
• Human Factors related to Visual Processing
• Slow and Deliberate vs Dynamic Entries
• Using Sightlines to increase survivability

surveillance tools that will be utilized in realistic drills on real streets and cities.
Role players and realistic scenarios while help each Officer gain a deep
understanding of these type of operations and how to improve their performance.
Conducting successful surveillance operations requires a unique
understanding of human behaviors and operational tradecraft in order to
be successful. All too often, Law Enforcement personnel relay on “on the
job” training approach to learn the unique skills required for mission
success. This teaches the core skill sets of close-hold, non-contact physical
surveillance typically used in Vice type criminal investigations.
Gryphon Group draws on a deep history of nearly two decades conducting
surveillance and counter-surveillance training for military and federal
agencies directly involved in the global war on terrorism.
Coupled with real world experience, Gryphon is able to present the training
in a scenario-based format that immerses the student in the day-today
challenges of physical surveillance

Advanced Undercover Officer Survivability Course (#LEOUOS-0911)
Officers on “Under Cover Duty” have all of the threats that all Officers have
to protect themselves from plus a whole set of threats that most Officers do
not ever experience. Role players and realistic scenarios will help each
Officer gain a deep understanding of these type of operations and how to
improve their performance. The Human Mind is the primary weapon for
increasing the survival of UC Officers.
Undercover Officers routinely work in close proximity to violent offenders in a
manner that precludes them from being able to control distance. Conducting
clandestine meets in confined spaces such as vehicles and hotel rooms are just a couple
of examples where the undercover officer cannot adhere to the “21 Foot” or
“Reactionary Gap” rule.
Couple that with the fact that the undercover officer routinely carries weapons in a
concealed condition makes responding to a life-threatening situation even more
precarious. Although the very nature of undercover operations requires officers to be
in close proximity to potentially violent offenders, there are tactics and procedures
which can significantly increase officer survivability when an encounter turns deadly.
Building on decades of Offensive & Defensive Weapons Training with elite military and Federal agencies,
Gryphon Group has helped thousands of operators increase their survivability when working in close
proximity to violent criminals in the War on Terrorism.
“Survival Strategies for Undercover Officers” examines the precursor behaviors, responses to and relevant
environmental factors that affect the outcome of each armed encounter. Using a combination of live fire drills
and force-on-force scenarios, the undercover officer discovers that what “works on the range” may actually
decrease their survivability in a real-world encounter.
Topics include but are not limited to:
• Anticipated vs. Unanticipated – the Deadly Distinction
• Understanding the “21 Foot” Reactionary Gap
• Speed of the Draw vs. Certainty of the Draw
• Movement as a Counter-Measure Drills
• Shooting while Moving Live-Fire Drills
• Understanding Sight Lines and How to Break them

5-Day
Advanced Police Sniper Development Course (#LEOAPS-0912)
Contrary to conventional wisdom, the Police Sniper often operates in much
more difficult circumstances than does the “military sniper” and with
significant restraints to their tactical decisions.
Police Sniper engagements often involve close-proximity shooting problems
on a public street in America, behind a barrier, or in a building involving
hostage-takers interacting with civilians while a SWAT take-down team is near
or in action against the suspect. In addition to these difficult circumstances,
the Police Sniper is heavily involved in “intelligence gathering” as they are
acting as “the Eyes of the Command & Control Team”.
More often than not, the on-scene Police Sniper is not “Green Lighted” to take
their shot until the subject has radically deviated in behavior, is in motion, and
with little to no warning. Gryphon’s Advanced Police Sniper Development
Course is strictly focused on what the challenges that the American Police
Sniper will encounter during real-world Police actions around the United States.
Gryphon’s Advanced Police Sniper Development Course is on-the-cutting edge of Police Sniper
Training and will entail 90% Live-Fire Drills & 10% Classroom on the following subjects:
1. SWAT Sniper training is too often modeled after Military Sniper Programs
2. SWAT Sniper engagement Distances are less than 70 yards
3. SWAT Sniper engagements require PID that precludes extended distance engagements
4. SWAT Sniper deployments typically involve urban and rural areas
5. SWAT Sniper engagements are typically “narrow window” engagements as it relates to time
6. Targets are likely to be in motion
7. All other means of resolution have been exhausted
8. SWAT Sniper team has been in place for an extended amount of time prior to the shot
9. SWAT Snipers typically find themselves in unconventional shooting positions
10. Engagements can include barrier penetration issues
11. Engagements often present issues related to over-penetration
12. SWAT Sniper engagements often involve mixed light/Low Light scenarios which create PID
Problems
13. SWAT Sniper engagements typically involve close proximity
shooting problems ie, hostages, civilians, take-down teams
Course Points of Focus:
• Short distance engagements with 100% accuracy-static target
• Short distance engagements with 100% accuracy-moving targets
• 100 % Accuracy through intermediate barriers – Windows
• 100% accuracy on Target PID Drills
