Intended Audience: 9th - 12th grade teachers Lesson: How to effectively use Google Classroom. Purpose: To introduce teachers to Google Classroom for the purpose of enhancing student learning. Essential Questions: Why should I use Google Classroom? What features of Google Classroom will work best for you and your students? Procedure: Introduction to Google Classroom and how it will benefit teachers and students. Step by step PowerPoint of how to join, navigate and participate in Google Classroom as a student and teacher. Allow teachers to explore and practice using Google Classroom. Conclude with a participant questionnaire. Estimated length of the workshop is 1 hour. NETS Standards: ISTE Standard 2: Design and develop digital age learning experiences and assessments. Teachers design, develop, and evaluate authentic learning experiences and assessments Incorporating contemporary tools and resources to maximize content learning in context and to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes identified in the Standard S. a. Design or adapt relevant learning experiences that incorporate digital tools and resources to promote student learning and creativity b. Develop technology-enriched learning environments that enable all students to pursue their individual curiosities and become active participants in setting their own educational goals, managing their own learning, and assessing their own progress. c.
