Young Indians is proud to bring this special edition of “Yi Connect” to celebrate its presence in 25 cities across the country and the launch of Yi (Bhopal Chapter). The date was 11 September 2012, and the city, Bhopal. The date was fixed as the one on which Yi will be launched in Bhopal and that it will become its 25th chapter in the country. At around 6 pm, members and their friends starting coming to the venue and the atmosphere was slowly, but surely building up. The screen had the pictures of the best Yi events scrolling, adding to the aura of the occasion. And then the programme started and a brief description is as follows: Mr R S Goswami, Chairman, CII Madhya Pradesh State Council, welcomed the members present for the occasion and said it was auspicious in many ways. He said that he was privileged to be in the company of the young and amidst the programme that was meant to celebrate the presence of Yi in 25 chapters across the country. He said that it was a momentous occasion and wished the office bearers and members all the very best. Launch of Yi (Bhopal Yi Chapter) & Celebrating Yi’s Footprint in 25 Cities across India Ms Anupama Arya, National Chairperson, Young Indians gave a brief presentation on Yi. Briefly mentioning about the genesis of CII, its verticals, its differentiators, global connect etc, mentioned that the youth and the young generation broadly needed to understand the New India and the New Environment that we were in. She further suggested that, Yi as a youth platform for the people of age 25 to 40 yrs and that it gave an experience to learn about themselves, about India, about the community they live in, how they can be part of global connect, reaching out to other countries and people there. She further said, “The community we are into, the members, its students and the farmers that will be its stakeholders will contribute towards the impact on youth of tomorrow”. She also discussed about other projects of Yi such as Green I Contest, Road2Ideas, Regional and National Summits and briefly also shared her experiences of being part of the Indian delegation to the G20 Young Entrepreneur Summit to France and Mexico. Young Indians is proud to bring this special

edition of “Yi Connect” to celebrate its presence in

25 cities across the country and the launch of Yi

& Vice Chairman, Career Institute of Medical

Sciences and Ms Bhavana Banerjee, Director –

Training & Placement, VNS Group of Institutions

were formally announced as the Founder Chair and

Co Chair of the Yi (Bhopal Chapter) respectively.

Mr Manish Rajoria said that his aspiration

and effort would be to make the Yi (Bhopal Chapter)

achieve notable heights and become an integral

part of India's growth history. “This for sure is

possible with a dedicated, enthusiastic team which

is ready to take challenges and strive for 'making a

difference' in the development of our society. And I

am happy to state that Yi Bhopal is backed up with

one such team”, he further said. He further

introduced the members of the executive committee

of the Yi (Bhopal Chapter) and thanked them for

their acceptance to take the responsibility of their

respective vertical and wished all of them all good

luck for the same. He later requested Dr Reena

Anand, Head of Department - Ophthalmology,

Hameedia Hospital, Bhopal to share some

information about the need to donate one's eyes

after death.

Her request to members to pledge their

support for this cause was met with mant members

filling up the necessary form at the end of the

session to give their eyes to a needy person after

their death. This eventually became the first event of

the Yi (Bhopal) immediately and on the same day

that they were launched.

Mr Ankit D Mittal, Chair, Yi (Indore Chapter)

who specifically travelled for this function along with

a few of the chapter members made a special

presentation about his experience of being

associated with a Yi chapter. He highlighted the

important initiatives undertaken by the chapter,

briefing members on the issues and challenges

under some of them, and they want members came

together to tackle them. He emphasized on the fact

that it was important for the chapter to bring in

impact oriented programmes and initiatives that will

create a positive outlook on the society. He wished

the Bhopal team the very best and informed that he

was available for support as an individual and as a

chapter. Earlier, Mr Ankit congratulated all

concerned for the launch of the Yi (Bhopal Chapter).

Mr Ranjan Mimani, Vice Chairman, CII

Madhya Pradesh State Council congratulated

everyone for the launch of Yi (Bhopal Chapter). He

suggested cross learning sessions between Indore

and Bhopal and mentioned that Yi had a very

evolving path with a shared vision. He specifically

spoke on CSR side of Yi highlighting that

companies with CSR funds do not thinkly as

creatively as the Yi members did. He urged and

requested to pick up 4-5 projects, put them and

package them together, so that it can go on an auto

mode. He cautioned that taking funds from the

companies as sponsorship / donation must be

fulfilled with total commitment since the companies

giving such support were open to be audited by

internal and external agencies.

Mr Pradeep Bhargava, Chairman, CII

Western Region and the Chief Guest for the

function saluted the Young Indians for raising the

pride of entrepreneurs in the world. “Wherever I go

in the world like Japan, Russia, etc., I always find

young people from India working there. It means

Indians have the guts to work anywhere and in any

environment and give the best results and make the

India and Indians pride” he said and advised the Yi

(Bhopal Chapter) to make its own identity by its

outstanding work.

“Our young generation has tremendous potential

and energy and they can help in developing India

and making Indians pride in the world”, he further

added.

Mr Bhargava said that Yi had an amazing

ab i l i t y in te rms o f courage, pass ion,

comprehensiveness image like any actor or

minister, and continuity and that Yi members think

and take decisions from heart. He requested the

chapter members to take up a few projects and

work efficiently on each of them so that it has a

profound and deep impact to the expected

beneficiaries and reached a larger section.

Ms Bhavana Banerjee, Co-chair of Yi

(Bhopal Chapter) proposed the concluding

remarks by thanking Mr Pradeep Bhargava for

being a part of the launch and making it all the more

special, Ms Anupama Arya for her time and graceful

presence, Mr Ranjan Mimani, Mr Ankit Mittal and all

the guests from Yi Indore Chapter for their

presence and support for Yi Bhopal and for being a

part of this launch, Dr R S Goswami for his

continued guidance and directions for all CII

initiatives and last, but not the least all those who

were present.
