When we look at the world around us we can see how much God loves us.

Page 5: Laudato Si’ Care of our Common Home A reflection on the Pope’s encyclical Photo: Adrian Heke.

When we can see God reflected in all that exists we want to praise and thank God.

Saint Francis of Assisi reminds us that our earth is like a sister with whom we share our life…

…and a beautiful mother who opens her arms to hug us.

This sister now cries out to us because of the harm we are doing to the world.

Page 21: Laudato Si’ Care of our Common Home A reflection on the Pope’s encyclical Photo: Adrian Heke.

Although there are some problems, may we always be hopeful.

All powerful God, you are present in the whole universe and in the smallest of your creatures. You embrace with your tenderness all that exists.

Page 23: Laudato Si’ Care of our Common Home A reflection on the Pope’s encyclical Photo: Adrian Heke.

Pour upon us the power of your love,

that we may protect life and beauty.

Fill us with your peace, that we may live

as brothers and sisters, harming no one.

Teach us to discover the worth of each thing,

to be filled with respect for every creature,

to recognise that we are all part of one human family.
